Washington Bullets
Is it true Leonsis is going to change the name back? That would be so awesome!
I'd have a team again.
"Elaine, you're from Baltimore, right?"
"Yes, well, Towson actually."

I haven't called them that W-word since its' inception (I haven't seen that movie yet, btw). I might actually start watching them again....until I realize that the NBA regular season is an absolute snoozefest and that the Bullets suck real, real hard.

A Washington team by any other name would suck the same.

I never understood why people came down on him for what he did before the 76ers game. That was some funny stuff.

Neat. You know names for teams that no one cares about. Wizards is still the worst.SuperHornet wrote:You sure? Try these NFL names on for size.89Hen wrote:Anything other than the Wizards. Worst name in pro sports ever.

Why are you throwing out names that don't exist for any professional sports teams?SuperHornet wrote:Reject names from the NBA:

Re: Washington Bullets
IMHO, the Macon Whoopee is still one of the best names in pro sports...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Macon_Whoopee" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; The Macon Whoopee was the name given to two distinct former ice hockey teams, both of which were located in Macon, Georgia. The teams played their home games at the Macon Coliseum.
The first team, known as the Whoopees, played in the Southern Hockey League in 1973. Despite a brief flash of national publicity due to the unusual nickname (NBC aired their scores and highlights on its NHL Game Of The Week), poor attendance led the team to disband in mid-season.
Hockey was not resurrected in Macon until 1996. A new team, known as the Whoopee (without the plural "s") played in the Central Hockey League from 1996 to 2001 and the East Coast Hockey League in 2002. After several owners endured seasons of poor attendance and monetary losses, the team finally went under in 2002.
