Idaho State at Portland State

Post by JALMOND »

Kickoff scheduled for 5 pm PDT from Hillsboro Stadium, temporary home for Portland State this year as PGE Park is being renovated for soccer/football. On a personal note, this season will mark the first time I have Big Sky football being played in my hometown :thumb: . This is the conference opener for Portland State and the first home game of the year for the Vikings, who come into the game 0-2 against the Pac-10, yet 1-0 against the FCS (1-2 overall). The Bengals are seasoned veterans in the conference, so to speak, as they are 1-3 overall and 0-2 in conference play. Unlike the Vikings, whose only win came on the road at UC-Davis, the Bengals' only win came at home against NAIA Montana-Western and only have played one game against the FBS, losing on the road to the WAC's Utah State. Recent outcomes in the series has not been kind to the road team, as the last time one of these teams won on the road was in 1999.

Weather is good in Hillsboro with party cloudy skies, no threat of rain, and temps should be near 70 at kickoff.

No TV, Portland State play by play...

We did. I was in Forest Grove then (further west). :D Now I'm only 10 minutes away from the stadium (and I like it :thumb: ).

Very cool - only problem is no good bars over there.

Glad the Viks are staying at PGE

38-3 and we actually looked good. That is the best football I've seen us play in quite a while. I know it is Idaho State, but it is someone who we've been sharing the basement and so forgive me if I sound giddy. For the conference opener, we looked sharp. On to Bozeman next week.
