Griz kneel it out for the win.

On a side note, my apologies to Sac State fans, I didn't mean to sound as if the Griz would have stomped ass if they only would have listened to me. Just confused at what our coaching is doing right now.

Well sorry Selle had to get hurt for people to realize Roper was the right decision all season.

Sloppy game for both teams, but a Win is a Win.

The spots in the game were absolutely rediculous and the interference call on the uncatchable pass?! Complete BS! The Griz didnt deserve to win that game, it was given to them by the refs, without doubt, FTG!

Wow close game...out of curiosity (not at all trying to be a d*ck or anything like that) but what is wrong with the Griz? Im thinking that maybe this spread no huddle offense is not exactly your guys offense of choice. Back with Hauks run first then throw offense you really seemed to control games better, maybe you should revert back to that next season. I say that just from a coaching point of view. :twocents:

Shit happens man, you need to learn to deal with it, blaming the refs for the game being lost no offense really is not an excuse. Was it a bad call? Yes but at the same time if Sac hadnt made any mistakes they would have been okay and won the game. Other things then the refs affect the game. :twocents:

Just like every team says. "We didn't lose, the refs cost us the game." No, they didn't. The only reason it was "uncatchable" was because of the man holding him for 4 yards.

Coming into this game Montana had 3 really poor aspects of their game: Special teams, Turn Overs and penalties. We cleaned up 1 piece of it this week, penalties, and got the win. 2 more pieces clean up, then I'll start worrying about our run game.

One major way to make a dent in the Turnovers is to ensure Peter Nyugen never touches the ball again. Love his return abilty and shiftiness, but the risk vs reward with him isn't worth it.

No, EWU fans (especially myself) were not happy with BLM last week. Happy we beat Montana. BLM overthrows every time, hanging his receivers to get their heads knocked off or the ball picked off. He hasn't shown any improvement over 4 games. He can't read coverage worth shit.

Holy shit we still look terrible. :ohno:

I don't know if it's coaching or what, but our O-line is absolute garbage. 40 fucking rushing yards? With Chase Reynolds? That game was embarrassing. :ohno:

Today's running game was really confusing. How can UM run for nearly 200 yards on a team with a good front 7 in EWU, but only run for 40 yards against Sac? I thought the problem was running out of the shotgun all the time (never really been Reynolds's forte), but the Griz ran under center a lot in the second half and it wasn't any better.

And what was with all the spread option plays with Roper/Selle?

Note to Griz: don't run the ball if someone other than Chase is back there. I think he & McKnight are the only ones the Griz can really count on not to make boneheaded mistakes.

Oh, and McKnight's freakish ability to somehow get that last punt off was probably the play of the game.

I thought Selle played well today… not that that matters now, of course.

I think our O-line lost it's dominance with conditioning over the last year. They aren't as strong as they were (they are faster), but they're also not quite to where Pflu wants them, and it seems this medium is a terrible place to be, especially because they can't seem to really do any run blocking.

Sac State's O-line pushed our defense a yard forward (at least) on most plays. Our guys got lucky to move forward at all. :ohno:

I don't think Chase is 100% healthy. He doesn't look anything like last year. It seems like if anyone touches him he goes down. He has almost 0 yards after contact. O-line isn't helping him, but I saw a lot of plays that Chase would usually squeeze a few more yards out of.

It's never the refs in Wash-Griz. It is called the "Griz mystique". All of us non-Griz fans have seen it all in that place.

I thought at the beginning of the season, Mitchell was the second coming of, well, Taiwan Jones.

Not to be a dick uofmman, but studies show that strength is easily attainable with a mediocre effort. Therefore, unless our guys are completely gassed, their power output should be higher.

Power = Work / time

While the guys may not be pushing big bodies like they used to, they are moving masses at a much higher frequency. 18-22 year olds adapt very quickly. It has nothing to do with the strength and conditioning of the Griz.

In my estimation, like that is worth shit, I would have to say the coaching is lacking.

I guess what I'm saying is that the emphasis isn't on power anymore, or we wouldn't see such a sharp shit-spiral in terms of O-line performance.

I guess either way it goes back to the coaches.

David Arndt, a former Griz lineman who probably would be starting right now, told me he left the team this year because he didn't like the way Pflugrad did things.

I thought he was crazy at the time, but I might be starting to see what he meant. :ohno:

No, I said that during spring and fall ball he looked every bit as good and competent as Nichols. Obviously I was wrong.

Yeah I'd be bitter too if the most dysfunctional Griz team in years sh#t the turnover bed YET again, but was still undefeated over my team.

Oh, and for those bitching about the pass interference call in the 4th. I had completely forgotten about this until it was just talked about in the LSU vs WVU game...the uncatchable rule is an NFL rule, so throw your argument out the window.

According to Wikipedia that's wrong, I'll dig up the official rule here if I can, but I'm pretty sure it's a college rule.
