Thought/Idea: The Bottom 10

I know that ESPN did this (do they still do it?) where they rank the bottom 10 teams in FBS in joking fashion. I used to get a good laugh out of it, and I wondered if there would be interest in someone doing an FCS version?

I would be willing to try it, but I'm not the funniest guy around. But I would be willing to help or do the work myself, we could do it here on the forums or as a blog or something.

Let me know what you guys think.

They've been outscored 147-14 by Willinois and 2 non-DIs. I think that's enough to earn all 10 spots.

Well, I'll come up with a write up for this week then and see how ya like it.

The key is a funny theme and then legit analysis. So a topic like 10 worst films all time, and then relate them to the program by title alone and then touch on, say valpo, about being outscored by 140 by non DI's.

Yes, Valpo continues to struggle.... They hired a new head coach this season. I'm sure part of the issue is adjusting to the new way of doing things, (no huddle offense), etc. It seems reasonable that the coach just does not have the right folks to run his system. I am willing to give him a few years to get things turned around. I think the school is as well. Just remember where Butler was back in 2005 or so.... I do believe that Valpo's administration is committed to football and that the program will be turned around eventually. Keep the faith!

think it's a great idea, but espn's bottom ten isn't just a ranking of the 10 worst programs, its also the 10 worst who had the worst week, and there's the 'coveted' 5-hole which is reserved for the team with the worst week of all, usually from a bcs conference.

the bottom ten provides bragging rights for some of the lower-division conferences on message boards, where they can fight about how many teams are in the bottom ten, and how many belong there but arent... it could be a lot of fun.
