San Jose St is 0-2 with a 48-3 loss to Alabama and a 27-14 loss to Wisconsin. The Wisc game looks respectable but that wuoldnt impress a Cal Poly fan. SJSU was actually down 27-0 til seconds left in the 3rd before getting on the board.
Maybe this yr is the yr for SUU to win the conf; should have last yr; didnt have the D to get it done. Maybe they got it now. SUU gets Cal Poly at home on Oct 16.

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.
I have to say i really like our chances in this one for a few reasons. First against Wyoming who i feel is a much better team the San Jose we played very well and should have one the game, just a poor outing in the 3rd quarter ruined our chances. Other then that our defense has been playing spectacular football so far this year and if our offense doesnt commit turnovers and our defense plays they way we have been playing we have a very good shot. A statistic of note: We have limited our 2 opponets so far to a combined 45 carries for 142 yards rushing which is only a 3.1 yard per carry average and that is facing a good QB in Carta Samuels and a decent rushing attack in San Diego. If our rush defense keeps this up we should do well vs the Spartans.
Interesting situation. If Southern Utah wins they would become more attractive to the Big Sky. If San Jose loses they might be more open to moving to the FCS and the Big Sky which might be what Fullerton is waiting for.
