Ursus, he has done this the last three years. Every time we have played them we have beaten them soundly, and every time he talks this same talk. Tries to convince everyone that despite stats and visual evidence, that the bison physically abused the opponent.

I can assure you, if there was ever a game where this was the case, this game was not as close as the score. UNI had superior athletes and controlled the game. It is a minor miracle that it was a 30 point game. And all of this happened with an entirely new D line, and entirely new o line, and a QB playing his first DI game.

The teams were not equally matched. It was clear to anyone that actually saw the game, that UNI was the superior team by any measure, JBB. I also find it funny that now, after the game, you are saying that UNI overall is the more experienced team when before the game, you said the exact opposite?

If I were an NDSU fan, I would be worried about some of that coaching. Check out this quote from one of our starting LBs:
"It was amazing," said Fort, who also had a first-half interception and notched a team-high 12 tackles. "We actually ran that (defensive) play three or four times in a row and I was like, 'Are they going to block it, pick it up, adjust to it?' They didn't."

I saw that quote and laughed my ass of. Hell, I know junior high teams that recognize when the other team runs the same defensive play four times in a row and makes adjustments to it.

I also don't understand the bitching about the OPI. I just saw the replay on TV. Craig James, a saftey for UNI was waiting on the ball just like an OF would in a baseball game, and the Bizun WR pushed him in the back to get him out of the way to make the catch. There were two flags hitting the grounds by the time the catch was actually made.
Nice work. There really is nothing better than having the video on this shit and being able to make stills out of it to shut up people with their horseshit and how "they saw" the game. I used that a couple of different times last year myself.

I do not trust his integrity too much from the story telling I've seen in the past anyway. When someone's take on things is this apologetic then you just can't trust it....but to say "game winning" in this situation is fucking beyond what I had previously witnessed.

Possession!! Are you kidding me???

He doesnt have possesion and the ball goes out the back.

Now lets talk about your judgement.

TD UNI, plain as day. Bison dodged a bullet there.

If you insist the picture is "proof" it is going to be difficult to take you seriously.

I will accept the picture for what it is: inconclusive. I will not accept it as foundation for any further argument. :geek:

JBB, maybe you guys should look at the Pistol, I know your a big fan. After two games your vaunted "power west coast" offense or whatever you guys call it is averaging 188 yards of total offense and 7.5 points. It more reminds me of the Army offense circa WWII.

You guys make our offense look like the Andre Ware Houston teams (and we suck).

why are you guys surprised at jbb's comments?

UNI is clearly better than us. Our offense is embarassing. I am also an Eagles fan, I don';t think I can go through a full season of watching the Bison and Eagles offenses :ohno:

This picture doesnt prove too much. It doesnt show the whole play, how do you know he didnt touch out of bounds?

SERIOUSLY HOW THE FUCK CAN THAT BE CALLED A GAME WINNING TOUCHDOWN??!!!!!!!!!
obviously, with the way they were controlling things with their ground game, they would have gone for two......
duh.

I have to agree that that still pic doesn't prove possession. he didn't have control of it quite yet, and he was sliding towards the back line. by the time he did have control, he had probably made contact with the back line, and thus was out of bounds.

either way, it doesn't make any difference.

Eleven sacks and minus 40 yds. rushing has to be an NCAA record. BISON MAKIN' SOME NOISE IN FCS!

I dont think I ever said I was a fan of the pistol. I have mocked teams that are building their future on that and the no-huddle though.

UNI won the game. They did some good things. Im most impressed with Anderson and the QB on offense. On defense it has to be the line.

For NDSU I was disappointed in the O line. They took a huge step back after the big win at the University of Kansas Jayhawks, perennial Big 12 power. I didnt see a lot from our running backs or QB either, but that might simply be a result of the line getting beat.

I liked the defensive line and the line backers. In fact I was impressed with the defense overall. Our offense should win the game when we keep what many fans would say is the top program in the FCS to only 16 points. UNO did have some big plays, but tip your hat to the talent of those ball carriers and their supporting cast. My guess is they will have a lot of big plays and a lot of teams wont hold them to missed field goals or have the speed to catch a skilled back that breaks into the open field. Look for UNI to be a high scoring team, especially against lessor opponents.

All-in-all it was a good contest. It wasnt decisive but the win gives UNI the tiebreaker and auto bid at least at this point.

You know things are bad when a fan is impressed with his defense after giving up 430 plus yards.

The 430 is impressive. I can see why you have trouble looking past that, but where was the punch? You guys have some speed and you fooled some freshman on a couple plays, but you were caught from behind and taken down. On the few drives you had you were able to score 1 TD. That is the same number of TDs as The BISON. Run up and down the field all you want. UNI only scored 16 points and the game went down to the last play.

I respect what the UNI offense did, and like I said they have a good D line, but you cant convince me or any other straight thinking BISON fan they are in any way vastly superior if superior at all. They won a close football game.

NDSU will continue to work on their football game down at the College of Football and may we meet again.

I talked with many ndsu fans after the game and everyone of them said ndsu didn't look like they belonged in the same building as uni. You are the only one saying that ndsu was impressive or should have won

Many NDSU fans are manic depressives. If they win they are over the top. If they lose its the end of the world. There is no in-between. Very few NDSU fans have the objectivity I display.

That same objectivity that leads you to be impressed with a defense that gave up 430+ yards of offense to a team that had a new QB and 5 new starters on the offensive line?

I watched the second half of the game. How did we only lose 16-9? and we had a chance to tie the game on the last drive (had a td called back because of offensive pass interference.)

our defense didn't play great, but they only gave up 16 points. Basically, it doesn't matter how many yards you give up if the other team can't score touchdowns.

We have issues on offense. Hopefully, this game will be a wake-up call, and the oline and coaches can make the adjustments that need to be made.

Bottom line - We are 1-1 to start the season. If you would have told me 2 months ago, that we would be 1-1 after UNI and KU, i would;ve been estatic. I still think we finish 7-4 or 8-3. Time will tell.
