I think the Big Sky is going to have a lot games won this year won in the 4th quarter by single digits.

EWU - tough team to figure out. Obviously Jones is going to be averaging 200-250 yards per game this year. And the Eagle may need him to do that. Their fans may have a better understanding but it seems to me the Mitchell and WR are still working the kinks out and there are some things to work out on the defensive side. Either they put it all together next week or I can see the Griz going into RED ROOS Field or whatever they are going to call and come out with a win.

UM - Defense is playing like expected very tough but sometime susceptible to the big play. Should be #1 in the conference when all is said and done..A little bit of a quarterback conundrum going on. Some people have always said if you have two quarterbacks then you have none. It is hard to believe that a Payton award candidate may have to fight for his job. Their WR talent is scary and it looks like they will be slinging the ball around 40 times a game. Part of the problem at least early in the season until they get the passing game fine tuned is that they used to beat a team up with their defense and their running game. That may no longer be the case. Come the end of the season they will be dangerous but early season struggles may mean the the conference season champ is a tie with someone. Roper may have earned himself the starting job and a shot at the record books this season..

Portland State - After watching them play Arizona State, I had the impression that there was a lot of talent on that team and they were just a steps away from making plays on both sides of the ball. UC Davis obviously found that out the hard way. This team has a lot of talent and it looks like Coach Burton is doing a good job of utilizing it. PSU runs the ball 40 times...must be a misprint..

Weber - Coach McBride knows how to recruit and this is a physical team and Higgins is off to a fast start which is bad news for the rest of the Big Sky. However, Weber's biggest obstacle looks to be themselves. You can't expect to turn it over 6 times and have double digit penalties and expect to win..

UNC - Why didn't you win? Every year this team has gotten better, and there is a lot of fight in their players. Looks like they have a good quarterback that will win a lot of games for them. They just have to put it all together and getting their left tackle back might have been the difference last weekend. Love watching Harris run hard.

Sac State - Tough physical team that runs the ball and does play action pass for the big play. And before anybody starts to snicker just remember that Sac State scored more points against Stanford than UCLA did. Still have a lot of questions

NAU - when NAU is clicking on all cylinders they are dangerous and they seem to be doing that early on..again. They got a lot of people back on defense and Herrick is stud. If they can finally put together a full season they can make another run like they did when they waxed McNeese State in the playoffs.

Idaho State - just young players with a lot of fight. Won't be fun to play but I don't know who they will beat either.

MSU - First off - goal for this team during the offseason was to get better quarterback play or any quarterback play. I think that MSU has done that even Kempt has been almost perfect in limited action. McGhee will make some freshman mistakes, but he will make more plays than not. He has missed some reads that the coaches know about, but I haven't seen him throw a ball so far off target that you wonder if he was playing for the other team. MSU on a whole has really well in their first two games. 5 penalties in two games. Five..Besides a 70 yard scamper on one play, MSU held WSU to 2.2 yards per carry the rest of the way. We are still down our starting defensive end that we may get back. We will not be beating ourselves this year. The question will be can we beat the quality opponent and get that killer instinct. New offensive scheme seems to be working and we should be aggressive and score points. We are still running the ball well. We won't be an easy out for any team in the Big Sky. MSU with a quality quarterback..good things happened the last time we had one... 8-)

Yeah, pretty much spot on there. Don't think anyone's jumping ship yet, but we have some things to work out offensively. :thumb:

Agreed, no reason to jump ship, but having no teams at 2-0, the at-large's are already taking a hit.

Weber still has Texas Tech and UM, MSU, EWU and NAU all have DII's which means they are all really 0-1 with a 10 game schedule. :|

Which is no different than most years.

Most Big Sky teams open up with D2 and FBS in the first few weeeks.

Screwed???? I don't think so. V Tech is screwed, we have a playoff system so there is a lot of football to be played.

I think there is a lot of parity in the BSC this season. I look for a lot of good games and "upsets" if you can call many of them by that word. I think the Cats are going to be a very formidable opponent this year.

The Griz will take some time to get in sync, much to the dismay of some. They have loads of talent but it takes more than that to bring a "team" together. There are no sure thing this year. It will be an intersting season.

i'm not a fan of the Cats. I am a fan of bpcats however. Great work again man! :thumb:

I am not concerned about the conference. There is some real good football going on, and there is massive potential out there that is not being reached yet. MSU looked great and had that game in hand in spite of killing themselves. MSU looks to be the scariest team in the BSC as far as upside right now other than UM.

Considering SH was predicting like 8 Big Sky wins over FBS teams, I can see how he's very let down right now

1) MSU has looked very good
2) UM has some growing pains right now but I wouldn't jump ship just yet. We did virtually everything in our power to lose and still kept it within 2
3) I said EWU would have problems with CWU, and all of their fans laughed at me. I don't care what they lost, CWU is still an elite D2:
CWU - beats EWU
CWU - beats MSU
CWU - almost beats UM
CWU - beats ISU
CWU - almost beats EWU
Notice the pattern?
4) Weber is not finishing this year with a winning record, I don't know why anyone would be surprised by the UNC game

UNC isn't any better this year. Same old, same old UNC. We don't know how to win close games.

It doesn't take long being at that level and then all of the sudden something clicks in the program and the next thing you know you've won three or four straight, 3 of 4, whatever it may be. UNC may be at that point right now. You can see that the wide gap has been narrowed.

The only problem is there is a couple more teams in the Big Sky that are at the same position at the same time.

Trevyn Smith is gone from Weber State, with that, I figured there's no RB that the Griz fan's have to worry about...but, EWU comes up with Taiwan Jones?!!?

Concussion or not, that kid truly scares the MrTitleist outta' me!

He's a load, (not meaning MrTitleist), and is gonna' get the Eagles noticed!

Trevyn wasn't as scary last year as he had been in years past, but Bo, Josh, and Vai will be getting your attention this year, while Cam dominates the passing stats.

Jones is the real deal, alright! Hope he does NOT have a concussion, but if he skips the Weber game that would be OK with me. :?

I find it amazing how a guy who was beligerently running smack all summer has already given up the ghost after two games, one of which could easily have been a win. We haven't seen such from his compatriots.

If you're implying me, you're wrong. I didn't run smack. Maybe against Sac St because you guys have been average or below average in football for a long time, but hell I know UNC ain't much better. You've been at this a bit longer than we have though.
