Well, they could beat every team in the conference. Then again they could lose to every MVFC team as well.

Re: NDSU @ Kansas
I went back and looked at some Kansas previews for the 2010 season. Most prognosticators had them winning 5-6 games and going 3-1 into conference play, losing only to Georgia Tech and beating NDSU, New Mexico St and Southern Miss. They were also picking a 2-3 win conference record. It will be interesting to see if any of them were close.

Re: NDSU @ Kansas
Its a heck of a game with GTech today. Im watching that and USD@Minnesota.
Kansas is tied at 14 and this is a physical battle. GT went on 4 and 3 from their 19, got it by a hair and went in for the tie.

Kansas beats FBS-ranked Georgia Tech 28-25.

Well? Where are the nay-sayers? You know the ones that said Kansas was terrible. Run down your arguments again. I seem to have forgotten them.

Please. They are a top 20 FBS football team.
How long have you been watching the game?
Is Illinois any good? Is Minnesota any good. Is Jacksonville State any good?
Is YSU any good? Is Illinois State any good?

Kansas is not a bowl team.
And no, Illinois, Minnesota are not good either. SIU should beat Illinois tonight. And minnesota lost to freaking south dakota.

So UNI beating a team that beat Kansas is not good. Kansas just beat #15, they can't be that bad.DJH wrote:Kansas is not good.

Re: NDSU @ Kansas
I can't fault NDSU fans for excitement over the Kansas win,
since UNI fans get excited over wins over Iowa State.
Not really much difference between the two.

JFC Kansas is terrible. I'm watching Southern Miss destroy them on ESPN 3. Hell, I'm not even a Kansas fan and I want to drink this is so depressing.
Re: NDSU @ Kansas
They are getting spanked. I think Kansas caught a GT team last week doing what Kansas did the week before...
I said it before, and I'll say it again...Kansas sucks.

Re: NDSU @ Kansas
obviously the physical toll of the NDSU game is still telling on the Jayhawks. They made a nice recovery last week but it seems things are catching up to them. Looking back through history this often happens. NDSU knocks the stuffing out of a very good team and they never really recover. We saw that last year with UNI, it happened to the Gophers and I think we are seeing it again this year with Kansas.
There is little doubt that Kansas gave some back to NDSU as well which would help explain the baffling performance of our O line last week. A lot of fans, including myself are watching SFA/UNI today. Will UNI collapse after the physical toll exacted last week by NDSU?
The Missouri Valley Football Conference is 7-7 in non-conference games this year. It is 1-6 against Bowl Subdivision schools with NDSU’s win over Kansas as the only victory and 6-1 over non-FBS teams. The only loss was South Dakota State’s defeat at Delaware.

Do the Bison still run that trick play they used against SIU where they let a FG get blocked and then recover it for a TD?

That is not in the playbook Haundawg. That play was caused in a large part by the SIU D line but the superior football acumen and athleticism of the BISON turned it in our favor.

Don’t know a lot about them, and I think it has to do with the fact there haven’t been a lot of big-time sports played there. So I can vouch for only a few things about the Northern plains:
Mount Rushmore. I believe Don James is second from the left.
The Corn Palace, celebrating the great Midwestern crop, in Mitchell, S.D.
The movie “Fargo,” in which Steve Buscemi played a perfectly snarky, no-account crook.
“Where The Hell is Wall Drug?” bumper stickers.
But this is changing, thanks to a pack of Coyotes and Bison, who are part of a national trend of upstart underdog programs giving fits to the establishment.
