Future Delaware NC Schedule

Post by jd of de »

Kevin Tresolini reporting Bucknell could be on future NC schedules.

"Delaware prefers to play less imposing regional Division I-AA foes in lucrative home games on its nonconference dates. Delaware State and, possibly, Bucknell are on future schedules so far. Delaware has future I-A road games scheduled at Navy next year and in 2013 and at Pittsburgh in 2014 and 2019. But the second Navy and both Pitt visits are in 12-game seasons."

I understand the strategy, particularly added to a challenging CAA slate, but I'd rather see a continuance of the MVFC and SoCon foes than NEC, Patriot, etc. I realize that this is all about the almighty dollar, and I guess I can't blame the AD for that.

I keep telling myself "at least they let West Chester expire, at least they let West Chester expire...".

Perhaps jd is simply confident that Delaware has numerous NC seasons in our future if we keep stacking the OOC schedule with Bucknell and Del State. :D

Actually, by playing PL and MEAC opponents, our chances for the NC go up exponetially. Maybe it wasn't a mistake. 8-)

It would be almost as embarrassing as losing to Jacksonville.

You guys recover from the Jacksonville game yet?

Well done. It's Friday and I'm over that embarrassment. Looking forward to better execution against Campbell tomorrow before the big "measurement game" next week against W&M.

If you have a friend that is a surveyor, ask him if you could borrow his tools, or bring a pair of high-powered binoculars, a top-level CAA team will be a good-sized measuring stick.

So true. Care to guess on the line? And the final margin?

I'll go... W&M 31 ODU 17

A loss, but nevertheless a respectable debut vs the CAA for the Monarchs. Laycock's not the kind of guy to rub your nose in it. ODU will get better and they have a memory.

I would take that right now. I'll be happy to stay within 3 TD's.
(Note: 7 days ago I would have said 2 TD's until I saw that our 2010 defense played worse than our 2009 defense.)

Still kinda early on a read on W&M this year after they went down in Amherst.

But since you asked, I'll say take the score of the Tribe's game vs VMI this week & add 7 to W&M' s score.
