Kickoff scheduled for 7 pm local Phoenix time (MST technically as Arizona does not do daylight savings time). Portland State starts off the Nigel Burton era in Phoenix. The Vikings will start and end the season with a plane trip to and from Phoenix (the last game will involve a bus trip to Flagstaff to face NAU though). The starting quarterback is still up in the air but rumor has it that Connor Kavanaugh will get the start, although both Drew Hubel and Tygue Howland will undoubtably see some action. Cory McCaffrey will start at running back, moving from wide receiver back to where he rushed for the most yards of any high school running back in Oregon. Portland State is 0-8 against the Pac-10, but this is the first time they've faced Arizona State. The Sun Devils are coached by former Montana State quarterback and Oregon State coach Dennis Erickson.

Should be a clear sky with temps near 100 at kickoff.

They just said that ASU was "disappointed" that the presale tickets sold were "only" 40,000. I'd bet even Montana would be pleased with that number of presale tickets.
