You only think you know them. They're all government plants. They are lucky to still be here and not packed up on the boxcars in shackles with the people who were on the flights.

See, this is EXACTLY the fucking thing about these fucking morons. In spite of ALL of their current points being refuted by real people involved in the incidents they will soon find some other angle to come up with some other bullshit part to their conspiracy.

The explosive paint, the missing tapes, any other amount of misdirection bullshit they can come up with not to mention the sheer # of people that would have to been involved to pull this off.

The NYC cops, The FDNY, all the other people that would have to keep their mouths shut and there are fucking retards that believe this shit.

There are a slew of people out there who want to believe all kinds of things. A long time ago I used to go on a message board that talked about the trails airplanes left in the cold air (as a debunker). There's a bunch of people who think they are from jumbo jet sprayers that are trying to control the weather and other things. I don't doubt that many agencies have tried to figure out a way to control the weather, but we're talking about ordinary everyday trails. :dunce:

One thing that 99% of the conspiracy websites have in common... a prominent link to Jack Rense. #1 kook. I actually think he's brilliant. He's convinced a bunch of people to buy his crap.

The thing is, there is plenty of other Mosques in NYC- I've heard claims of over 100. So there is no need for another one. As I said before, this one is being built for one reason only- because of its almost next door (600 feet) from Ground Zero. Jihadists from all over the world are going to be drawn to it for the simple fact that they want to come see the sight where their fellow jihadists wreaked devastation on the Great Satan.

This guy put it better than I could:

"....Gary Berntsen, a New York Republican Senate candidate, fired off a statement Friday criticizing the president's comments. In an interview Sunday, Mr. Berntsen, a former senior Central Intelligence Agency officer who served in Afghanistan, said a mosque near Ground Zero would become a national security risk.

"He missed the point that people found this offensive because it's very, very close to Ground Zero," he said. "That mosque will become a magnet for militants. They will be drawn there in large numbers, and they will seek to impose themselves on that mosque, regardless of who the leaders are."......"

I can see that but if it draws them in and we know or are looking for any of them then they can easily be monitored and even captured can't they?

I just think a big opposition does us zero good. Hell if they want to come see the site they can do so freely anyway can't they?

So we should put a limit on the number of mosques allowed in NYC? You think that's allowable? Would you be ok if a city decided to limit the number of churches?

What a fucking joke. Aren't the jihadists already trying to come over here to blow us up? You think sightseeing would be higher on their list of things to do?

Look, I don't really know what's right or wrong here and just went off of what you posted and didn't read the article yet but didn't NYC itself accept money from Saudi Arabia while being told that the US needs to look at our foreign policy?

I was making the point that the only reason they are putting the mosque by Ground Zero is because of Ground Zero by pointing out the fact that they already have over 100 mosques in NYC (or the NYC area), so its not like there is a need for another one due to not enough mosques. Why I said "There is no need for another one". Way to take what I said out of context.

Numbnuts, maybe you didn't read the part "That mosque will become a magnet for militants. They will be drawn there in large numbers, and they will seek to impose themselves on that mosque, regardless of who the leaders are."

Its not sightseeing. Its having having their own little jihad center at Ground Zero, the location of their greatest success.

Good point-that would be the only positive I could see out of it. But I don't know if that would outweigh the fact that it would give them a place where they could discover fellow jihadists, conspire, and recruit. I guess you would have a positive and negative there.

Would still suck bigtime for the families of the victims.

I think it's great that they have the right to build it, but pretty disrespectful they took up that right. This really isn't a great idea. That said, why do people (especially the right) keep calling this a Mosque? It's an Islamic Center. ODU has an Islamic Center (between a Baptist Union and Canterbury Center) with basketball courts and a playground and some other cool stuff. All Islamic centers have prayer rooms, but that doesn't mean it's a Mosque. These centers are simply places to hang out with people you connect with, to enjoy some non-religious activities, and etc. If you've ever been to a Mosque, head to one. You'll find they don't have any of that stuff...it's your basic church or synagogue like structure...very formal (plus you can't wear shoes in Mosques and playing bball without shoes kinda sucks ;)).

I'm not going to argue about whether they have a right to build a mosque at Ground Zero. There's no question that they have a right to build a mosque there.

But, just because you have a right to do something doesn't mean going out and doing it isn't an incredibly stupid idea. Hell, I have a right to get hammered drunk tonight and start trying to hook up with fat girls. It would be really stupid of me to do so, but I've got the right.

That's my beef with this mosque, they can build it, but it's a bad idea. It is offensive and hurtful to a lot of Americans, especially those that lost loved ones on 9/11.
