Re: Griz to be more up tempo than Pac -10
From someone who lives in the heart of Pac-10 country and who's team is playing two Pac-10 teams this year, I say "Whatever". Coming from a team that is not stepping up to this level of play, it does ring hollow. Maybe the Griz will be, but it is all subjective. The quickest team we played last year was Oregon State, and this year, one would be hard pressed to accurately say that any other team on our schedule would be quicker than the little Phoenix Devils and the Rubber Duckies.
The Griz will say of course and the rest of the conference will more than likely join me in the "whatever" but this won't be proven until the Griz play someone from the Pac-10. It is easy to sit back and watch and say yeah, we are quicker than they are. When you play that level, however, you realize just how fast all the teams in the Pac-10 play at (yes, even Wazzu).

Re: Griz to be more up tempo than Pac -10
WTF did I miss J that you caught?
I didn't take the up-tempo thing as meaning that the Griz were faster than all the Pac 10 teams. I took it as meaning that the practices and the work effort was more up tempo.
We got some quick guys but I sure as hell didn't see where they were claiming superior speed at each position.
Coming from you J that's kinda stunning cuz this sounds like you heard something completely different than what they were saying...or I did.

Re: Griz to be more up tempo than Pac -10
The question asked the receiver was what his perception of the practice routine was and he responded "The schedule is pretty much the same, but the tempo is a lot faster." I couldn't tell what Amandas Dad was asked when he responded with the more up-tempo than any PAC-10 response, he could have also been talking about practice tempo?
I guess we will learn more from Griz fans after Sundays scrimmage.

I didn't watch it with any pre conceived notion about what they were saying though...I just watched it.

Re: Griz to be more up tempo than Pac -10
Coming from a non-Griz fan, the whole thing was pretty dry. About the only thing worth a damn on it is that the Heritage Inn has remodeled their rooms (next question is why would anyone want to go to Great Falls?). Maybe what I was going off of was the title to this thread and the quotes, both in the video and the article from the two Pac-10 transfers about how more up tempo the Griz practices are (funny thing is our transfers from Oregon and Oregon State all tell us the same thing). Is it really? You won't see the difference until you play at that level, and it is crazy to think that any Big Sky program is more up tempo in any aspect than the Pac-10.
I get it, though. Griz fans are excited about this "revelation". The rest of the conference will say "Whatever." (yawn).

Yawn all ya want J. We play the Pac 10 pretty tight normally and have a little bit of beating them too.JALMOND wrote:Coming from a non-Griz fan, the whole thing was pretty dry. It is that time of year to be a little excited about things. You wanna be a bitch about it and shit on it then feel free.
If you feel like picking apart what your own players and the Griz players are saying in interviews then good for you as well. You're very hard to please and have earned that I guess.
I'm sure we'll be getting something very exciting out of you soon JALMOND.

Nah. Jalmond, the Bear and I aren't brothers - we're just not Montana fans. So when something comes up on Montana fottball we don't automatically cheer. But, as Jalmond says, "whatever".

Re: Griz to be more up tempo than Pac -10
The Griz may well have more up-tempo practices this year. Not going to make a bit of difference, because if Sacred City doesn't win the league title, then the Griz will.
But watch out for the next several years after this one. PSU has two of the best head coaches in the Big Sky (football and girls hoops), so good things will go in the Vikes' direction in the years to come. Probably a bit early to claim it for this year, but good things in the future indeed.

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

Give me a break, they were talking about practice tempo. The title of the thread was the deceiving factor here, but that didn't even hint that the Griz feel they are faster than Pac 10 teams.

Exactly. BigSkyCunt can't help himself. He's the perennial wet blanket and wants to keep his position in that regard.mlbowl wrote:frinq wrote:Nah. J always provides good content, advocates for content on FCS and so forth. Now why would he start shitting on a new story? Not only that but he mistook what was being said there and then puts on Griz posters as if we had said it ourselves and were creaming over it.
If you don't care then you click and move on. He went out of his way to get something going here so I assume he's either looking for a reaction (not like him), or he's having a bad period and wants to take a shot at some innocuous shit like this.
A lot of conference backers are turning into to complete bitches and want to take shots. Good, be ready for them back and we can turn any thread into a shit slinging contest...I don't mind. But don't fucking cry about it when I come on and shit all over everything you put up as as news either.

You feel very inferior and you are probably correct in that. Why else would you try and measure yourself by bringing up the post count as if it matters? I've never brought it up, nor have I said anything about your lack of thought or opinion that were worth of the "submit" button cuz that just don't mean shit. You must think it does.
I have no idea how many you have but I do know that you have not in my memory ever said anything other than to try and engage me. I am extremely interesting to you, and that is the only thing you or anyone needs to know about ya.
You are really bad at this shit son, and I know you hear that all the time but seriously, have some dignity and just give it up.
Now take BigSkyBears minuscule cock out of your mouth and go do something productive with your day.
Re: Griz to be more up tempo than Pac -10
Pflu has commented several times regarding "up tempo" attack. Look for a lot of no-huddle and fast-paced drives that put a lot of pressure on defenses and make D role substitution difficult. It's more than the pace of practice, but it has never referred to team speed. That will be better, but still way behind PAC10 standards. It's not like he doesn't know the PAC10.
