Matt Nichols first play was taken under center. Botched snap, picked it up, scrambled right, and completed a pass to the 3rd string TE.

I know it's early, but Carolina looks like they have some talent this year - they have Vaughn from Richmond as a backup RB.

Clauson is looking strong too. At least he has a QB that can get him the ball. It will be interesting to see what he can do with it running from NFL speedsters.ASUG8 wrote:I know it's early, but Carolina looks like they have some talent this year - they have Vaughn from Richmond as a backup RB.

Dexter Jackson had a better night receiving. But, Armanti did pretty well returning kicks.

Eh. He had a nice 18 yard return and didn't really have much of a chance on the others.AZGrizFan wrote:I thought he looked rather pedestrian.Skjellyfetti wrote:Dexter Jackson had a better night receiving. But, Armanti did pretty well returning kicks.![]()

Re: AE's first play in the NFL...
I only saw the second half. He played a lot, but never broke a punt return more than about 4 yards, had one nice catch and dropped two others...but, in his defense he's still in the infancy of learning his new positions....I think he'll be fine.Skjellyfetti wrote:Eh. This. The man has spent his whole life as the best player on every team he has been on. For the first time he has guys as good or better than him on the same team. He has some learning and catching up to do. I really hope he is on the field in about week 10.AZGrizFan wrote:I only saw the second half. It will take time and lots of work, but he can do it. He's a winner with a good head on his shoulders.

Wow! It looks like he added 2 inches to his biceps. Does a good comparison pic exist?

Re: AE's first play in the NFL...
It was a nice start for Armanti. As long as he runs north and south instead of east and west on punt returns he'll be an asset this year for the Panthers because he's got the skill and speed to make a big play anytime he touches the ball.
