A no-name player transfers from a program with little FCS relevance to a program that has zero FCS relevance.
Looks like a great get for you guys..............

He's got over 4K passing yard and 37 TDs in 2 1/2 years of starts. The Citadel is going back to the triple option.JayBilasBitesPillows wrote:Andy, as always, I am here to help you out.andy7171 wrote:What can you guys tell me about this Bart Blanchard guy?

Re: THE Citadel QB transfering to Towson
2008 he had a really good season. Last year things went the other way. I can't remember if there was an injury or if the coaches thought his play went down. I believe he played against WCU last year and Western beat them after Citadel had a horrible offensive day. Western finished last in the conference. The next game El Cid switched QBs and ran up and down the field against their arch rival.
If he plays like 2008, it will be a good pick up. If he plays like 2009 then sorry.

Re: THE Citadel QB transfering to Towson
JFC isn't there a smack forum for you douchetards to jump all over Towson?
OL - looking at stats from that WCU game he was 9-11 with 91 yds and a TD, I'm thinking he got injured. Because he comes back 2 games later with almost identical stats and then he's out for another two. Re-injured?
Either way, I like his 61% completion rate.

The comical thing is that the fanbase of a school that's hanging its hat on victories over Chowan et al is questioning Towson's relevancy. It's gonna be fun watching them tumble from the CAA starting gate next year.andy7171 wrote:JFC isn't there a smack forum for you douchetards to jump all over Towson?![]()

Re: THE Citadel QB transfering to Towson
I think he was a pretty solid SoCon QB that played well against ASU. Doesn't fit the new option offense at Citadel so unless he is truly considering a military career, probably not a bad move for him or Towson.

I do remember some fussing from the Cit boys during the year.
He is a very good passer though. I think the Citadel was looking for a dual threat which may have been one of the other reasons he didn't play as much during 2009

For some reason, you can click on font color and the space for the palette expands but the colors don't show up. You can try to guess a color, like I did here.

Yeah. The kid that replaced him after the WCU game threw for 180 and a TD and rushed for 140-3.OL FU wrote:That could be. I really can't remember.andy7171 wrote:JFC isn't there a smack forum for you douchetards to jump all over Towson?![]()

Re: THE Citadel QB transfering to Towson
Blanchard has already graduated from The Citadel and will be enrolling at Towson as a grad student. He doesn't fit in with the new offense and was upset that Coach Higgins pulled him when he was injured. IMHO, Higgins waited too long to pull him. The kid could barely walk.

Re: THE Citadel QB transfering to Towson
Bart is a very good QB when he is healthy. Highly accurate thrower. Last season prior to the beginning of the season during August pre-season practice he suffered an ankle injury that hampered his mobility. So Higgins platooned him with another QB [Starks] at the beginning of the season. Thus, when you saw Starks come in you knew it was going to be a running play of some sort. Remember we almost beat Appy at home running this platooning of QBs. Bart re-injured the ankle again during that Appy game and he was never the same the rest of the season.andy7171 wrote:What can you guys tell me about this Bart Blanchard guy?

Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.
