Place Kicker - PK

Senior

Previous Affiliations
Seneca
Previous Experience
Seneca, S.C.

Enjoyed a solid first season as the Mountaineers’ place kicker a season ago ... displays a booming leg on both kickoffs and field goals ... has continued to work on accuracy throughout the offseason.

2008 : Made 8-of-12 field goals and 64-of-69 extra points in first season as the Mountaineers’ regular place kicker ... displayed a powerful leg througout the season ... was consistently putting kickoffs inside the five yard line until ASU’s coaching staff moved to a pooch kick to cut down on the long returns its coverage teams were allowing ... was 2-of-3 on field-goal attempts from 40 yards and beyond, with the only miss coming on a 56-yarder right before halftime of the home opener versus Jacksonville ... knocked a season-long 46-yard field goal through the uprights against Presbyterian.

2007 : Backed up all-America kicker and ASU’s all-time leading kick scorer Julian Rauch ... saw action in two games ... kicked off once for 66 yards versus Gardner-Webb ... kicked a pair of extra points and kicked off three times for a total of 1180 yards in win over archrival Western Carolina.

#39 - not assigned

lets look at another asst. coach

Justin Roberts

Image

Hometown: Hannibal, Mo.

Position: Linebackers

Alma Mater: Missouri Southern

Graduated: 1996

Justin Roberts joined the Catamount football staff prior to spring practice in 2009, originally taking over as the defensive line coach. Going into the 2010 season, Roberts will handle coaching responsibilities of the WCU linebacking corps.

Roberts came to Cullowhee after spending three seasons coaching the defensive line at Tennessee State. Prior to his three years in Nashville, Roberts spent a year at Texas A&M-Commerce, where he served as the defensive line coach. He implemented the defensive line scheme and the game plan against the run.

The Hannibal, Missouri native played his collegiate career as a center at Missouri Southern State College. He was a three-year letterman and was a part of the 1993 MIAA conference champions. In 1996, Roberts was named to the National Strength & Conditioning All-America Team.

His first coaching position came in 1997 at Columbia Missouri's Hickman High School where he was the head strength and conditioning coach and the assistant offensive line coach. After two years at Hickman, Roberts entered the college ranks as the defensive line and head strength and conditioning coach at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College.

He then moved to Oklahoma State in 2000 for his first of two stints in Stillwater. Roberts worked with the linebackers and the defensive line as a graduate assistant for the Cowboys.

In 2002, Roberts moved to the University of North Carolina and worked as a graduate assistant. In his two seasons with the Tar Heels, he assisted with the defensive line and the secondary. In 2003, he worked as a defensive coach for the Blue-Gray All-Star Classic.

Roberts returned to Oklahoma State for one year and worked as the assistant strength and conditioning coach. He coordinated the position specific summer 7-on-7 and pass rush programs for the Cowboys before heading to TAMU-Commerce.

Roberts graduated from Missouri Southern in 1996 with a degree in Criminal Justice Administration. He earned a teaching certificate in Social Studies from Lincoln University in 1999.

During the summer of 2009, Roberts was married to the former Jessica Hayes of Chapel Hill, N.C.
