Missouri Valley Football 2010 Thread

Well I will believe it when I see it with the Redbirds. They did not impress me at all when they came to Youngstown last year, scoring 18 points on us. I was extremely impressed with Missouri State, their QB Kirby, and their defense as a whole. They, in my eyes, are the real deal.

I look at it like this, MSU, ILSU, and YSU all finished 6-5 last year. All should finish with 6-7-8 wins this year. As of now, I have MSU with 8, YSU with 7, and ILSU with 6.

Illinois State returns something like 85% of their offense.

The one real offensive weapon that MSU had to lean on is now gone.

BUT we are replacing him with some great athletes at WR and also brought in a good JuCo TE in Matt Thayer.

Good Point. And we get back our #1 QB, Drew Kiel, nephew of former NFL QB Blair Kiel. The guy that beat UNI will likely be a RS. Drew broke his arm/wrist while taking a sack right before the half in out season opener at EIU. We have 3 quality QB's, 2 Juniors and a Sophomore.

We've also added BCS transfers at WR and tailback.

We'll be able to score, the question is if the D will have the ability to stop anybody. We'll win our share of 44-38 games.

Ill State will either be damn good or something will go horribly wrong this year I feel. I don't see them being middle of the road again this year. Either it all clicks or the injury bug/leadership bug rears it's head and the Birds struggle to cope.

I've picked the birds to win the MVC. I don't know how they lost to YSU, they showed us a lot more game.

True. Generally, if you outscore a team, you have a good chance to get the win.

The most likely transfer, Tyler from Purdue, previously had an offer to UMass before going to Purdue.

I would imagine, he would not come here if he did not feel that he had a chance to start. If he comes, we will have four QB's total:
-Kurt Hess- Current front-runner, pro-style QB.
-Mark Kanetzky- Walk-On that did start at NDSU.
-Patrick Angle- Some called him the best high school QB in Ohio last season, cross between pro/mobile QB.
-Najee Tyler- From Purdue, very talk 6'3 235 pro-style QB.

I think this transfer really improves our chances of making the playoffs. 7-4 sounds very doable now and 8-3 is not out of the realm of possibility.

Dunno if this has been mentioned on here yet or not, but kickoff for the UNI/NDSU game on Sept. 11 has been moved from 4:05 pm to 6:35 pm.

Probably to avoid going directly against the Iowa/Iowa State game that is that afternoon.

I never had any desire to go to a football game at the Mac, but that stadium is making me excited for the 11-12 season.
