Getting back on topic, did we ever find out who it was? That was back in the days of Shalon Baker and that bunch, wasn't it?

Who said it wasn't...I don't know if it was the beautiful music or the blood flowing out of me that made me cry more.Ursus A. Horribilis wrote:Yeah it's evolved into a "brushes with celebrities" thread.SACCAT wrote:One time at band camp...sorry I thought it was story time.![]()
Now if it was Zamfir's flute that you had in your ass then you got a story.

He would have worked with all the guys I mentioned and even would have maybe coached Mike Rice for one year. Shalon Baker for sure too. I'm just throwing out names of guys that I am not sure are still in this area. It could also be a ton of others including Raul Pacheco or Elu Kahne but I think Raul was in Texas last time I saw him a couple of years back.JALMOND wrote:Getting back on topic, did we ever find out who it was? Mitch Donahue was a bad ass for Wyoming, and later played for the Denver Broncos.JALMOND wrote:At the risk of hijacking this thread, I've got to throw my story of playing against an ex-NFL prospect in rec-league softball. I was the catcher for our team and we were playing against Mitch Donahue's team. For a little background, Donahue was a stud player for Billings West High School back in the mid-80's and went on to play four years for Wyoming who was a good team back then. He was drafted into the NFL but did not last. Anyway, in the game he hit the ball hard but low and it rolled to the fence. By the time my team got the ball back to the top of the infield, Donahue had just rounded third base and was heading towards home (where I was standing). I got set to catch the ball, looked up and realized who he was. I then dropped my arms and yelled "Don't throw it! Don't throw it!" which got everyone on both teams laughing.

It was Joe Farrish....played from '88-'91. Great guy....not much of a golfer. We were a perfect match.JALMOND wrote:Getting back on topic, did we ever find out who it was? That was back in the days of Shalon Baker and that bunch, wasn't it?

And if I had tried to block the plate, chances are good that I would not be here typing this. I'd probably would have spent the rest of my life drinking my food from a Slurpee cup.MrTitleist wrote:Mitch Donahue was a bad ass for Wyoming, and later played for the Denver Broncos.JALMOND wrote:At the risk of hijacking this thread, I've got to throw my story of playing against an ex-NFL prospect in rec-league softball.
