EWU will be the AQ from the Big Sky only if UM's plane crashes on the way back from a road game.

The MVC AQ will be ISU or SIU - I pick ISU to win the MVC.

I don't see SDSU beating UD on the road, but I love that kind of scheduling by both teams, and I hope that it will be rewarded if one of them is on the bubble.

Well, when Lennon took over SIU they still won the MVC, and the gap between UM and the rest of the BSC is greater than the gap between SIU and the rest of the MVC. So it may affect UM's season, but not enough to keep UM from winning the BSC.

Like i said you can disagree all you want. and i see where your coming from and no doubt SB will be good this yr. but liberty will be better. we have Mike Brown (conference player of the yr as a sophomore) at QB who will do amazing things there. we have the fastest defense and a very talented team team overall. liberty is taking the conference title this yr. imthat confident in LU this year im in no way bashing SB. theyll be number 2 in conference and theyll deserve that spot

The gap isn't as big as you think. (That's what she said). But I can understand why you think that. Did Lennon change the offensive scheme completely? And doesn't UNI generally win the MVFC, not SIU?

I think its pretty safe to figure that the Big South AQ is gonna go through either SBU or LU. I have it pretty much coming down to that last game in Lynchburg but I have the Flames showing why they havent lost a conference game at home since 2006 (LU averaged 55.6 points in the three home conference games last year and had an average margin of victory of just over 40 points). I dont think itll be a blowout necessarily but I do see teh Flames coming out on top and punching their first ticket to the postseason.

I cant predict a win but it will cetainly be another cliff hanger. I see a field goal by either team as the difference at the most.

I expect Furman and UTC to have a little say in the SoCon race too. I would be very surprised if any team in the SoCon including ASU goes undefeated this year as the entire conference looks to be better balanced this year than the past few and no AE factor. Still agree that Elon and Furman coming to Boone might be the difference.

I saw something in RMU the second half of last season, especially against Albany. If they can keep that going, they're the favorites in my book.

I don't think anyone can put Elon as SoCon champs until we can beat App. I think we'll be a at-large, but no way as conference champs yet. If we win in Boone, then we'll see. I don't see anyone knocking off App from the top of the SoCon this year, but Elon does have a chance, as well as Furman, and possibly a healthy Wofford. Elon losing Hudgins was big, but we should be a lot more balanced on Offense, with all 3 RBs coming back, and a strong group of recievers to spread the ball around more evenly. Overall I say App wins a very tightly contested SoCon, with the big factor being the home games against the other possible contenders.

Yep. UNI has 14 of the 25 MVFC/Gateway conference titles, 10 of them are outright. SIU has 5, and only 2 outright.

Heck, last year was an epic failure in terms of UNI football and we finished 7-4 and 3rd in the conference.

I'm not sayin how big the gap is, just sayin' that the top of the MVC is closer to SIU than the top of the BSC is to Montana.


Lennon did change the offense again as more of his recruits suit up and Kill's kids graduate. Dieker is learing his third offense in four years.

UNI used to win at the Dome but that has changed with the rise of SIU; lately SIU has outperformed them winning the majority and by larger scores, including handing UNI a stinging Homecoming defeat last year at the hands of UNI's old nemesis, Dale Lennon, who has also coached a d2 team to victory at the Dome.
