2008: He redshirted at Montana.

High School: He was an all-state selection in football, wrestling, and track...a three-time all-conference pick at tight end and linebacker at Choteau High School...was the state wrestling champion as a junior (189 pounds) and senior (215 pounds)...earned 10 letters: three in football, four in wrestling, and three in track and field...team captain and MVP in wrestling as a junior and senior...team captain and defensive MVP in football his senior season...his prep football coach was Joel Christiaens...he had 11 sacks his senior season, along with 45 catches for 450 yards and six touchdowns ... participated in Montana’s annual East-West Shrine Game and the

2008: Played sparingly as a non-lettering squad member. Was the team's scout team defensive player of the week once.

2007: Redshirted. He was defensive scout team player of the week four times - the most on the team.

HS: Graduated from Mount Si HS in 2007. Was a first team selection as a defensive lineman on the Associated Press 4A All-State team as selected by sports editors and writers. Earned first team 3A All-State honors as a defensive lineman from WashingtonPreps.com. Selected to play in the 4A/3A East-West All-Star football game. Also wrestled at Mount Si where he was KingCo 3A champion as a senior and junior and finished third at the 2006 State 3A Championships. Former Eagles Alex Smart ('04) and Brett Bergstrom ('02) also attended Mount Si.
