This is a good year for FCS OL as far as the NFL is concerned. There should be at least 4-6 players considered as draftable this fall.

SELU OT Kevin Hughes is another name to keep an eye on. He is pretty athletic and getting looks from the NFL.

Glad you brought Kevin Hughes' name up...I'm obviously biased but I thought he was one of the top two or three OL in the SLC last year, and performed very well against the top pass-rushers on our schedule...he's a little under-sized at 6-4, 296, but is a great athlete with good feet and much, much improved strength in the weight room...we'll be more power run oriented in 2010 which should definitely help him get more notice...the NFL scouts who rolled through this spring liked what they saw and told our coaches he'll track higher this fall than Felton Huggins or Ray Perkins did when they came out...hopefully he can stay healthy!!

While Verlanic is deserving, I think Jon Opperud is a quality lineman as well.

I have not seen his tape yet but I do remember Huggins and liked him. If he is a better prospect than Huggins he has a shot to get drafted. I just know what I had heard from scouts on him so far and figured at his size he will project to left guard.

Oh I like Hall. He is your best pro prospect in my mind. If he was two inches taller we would be talking mid rounds in 2012. I have him as a 7th-PFA type heading into the fall right now.

Opperud still has two more years and unlike DJ Hall has not been among the top 20 or so guards each of the last two years in the FCS but I do believe he is now at that level and will be among the better guys out there this year.
