State Line - you're right on. Have sat in Section C the past 3 decades and there's a good mix nowadays, but I share your sentiment there are a lot of old-timers. I went to one of the town meetings in April, I'm 40 years old & other than the sports management students that were there, I'm pretty sure I was the youngest guy in the room. Guys like BHB & Henzone, Oldhen, etc, they're the old guard. I agree with you to a point that it may be a good thing if the whole UDAF thing shifts the crowd demographics. One thing's for sure, UD has alot of VERY old fans, that are grizzled for a number of reasons...and Henzone sounds to be one of them. Just getting old in general, changes happening in their old football program, not having the same income that they once did, the world moving faster, long time friends passing, etc. When I sit in some of our family heirloom seats down lower in Section D (I also have my own in J) there is an overwhelming amount of geriatric disgruntlement. I've been challenged before for being too loud, or standing up (once a quarter), or correcting elderly befuddlement about what goes on during the game, or getting asked 'what business' do I have being in that section to begin with.
I recognize that there are some things going on with pricing and donations, etc that are going to make things more expensive for many. In my opinion, a positive effect is that it's going to get some younger people who are energized about UD sports in better seats. I just hope they don't go too far with their pricing.

There is still a blue hen that stops by every now and then and is a pretty cool guy, I can't remember his screen name though. I remember the name HenGrad07 though, and I'd be glad to pull up some of those threads to see if you remember the names on them. Thanks to the Greatest Generation for their contributions to the country, but don't expect me to beg forgiveness every time I want to watch my alma mater play football in a seat that's my ticketed right to park my butt in. Civility has little to do with the matter and to pin the shutdown of the site on one poster is ridiculous. Lot of posters were behaving badly. It seems that the University has done a poor job in preparing it's grads, if most of the posters are grads, to engage in critical thinking. Rather than support a postion with facts, there would be an attack on the poster, as you have done here. When folks were pressed to back up what they wrote, the thin veneer of thier intellect washed away easily. They'd get mad and respond viscerally. You happen to be one of the more thoughtful posters from the site and at times are able to see both sides of the issues. Strategy now at work... paranoia about a poster who previously challenged their thinking. Not unusual... prior posters have been accused of being "Harold R", "absolutehen", "HenGrad07", and other anti-status -quo challengers. Instead of debating ideas... the KCKlan sees terrorists lurking on a keyboard in an undisclosed location.
The goal is to direct attention away from the main issues being addressed. Notice that none of the facts presented regarding the current status of UD football have been refuted. THIS is what the GoHens Board became... a planned attempt by "KC and the Sunshine Gang" to discredit anyone raising issues....not by discussing the issues but by attacking the messengers.
There have been innumerable posters who have prefaced their remarks by indicating they usually just read rather than post since they choose not to be attacked.
There are long time posters who have left the Board rather than endure constant personal attacks as well as juvenile rants.
So....let's see... there were issues presented regarding the discontent of some UD fans... actual issues... not paranoia about a ghost who continues to spook the booster club. "The whole world is watching".
As for the "issues", you make it seem like the vast majority of posters ignored the issues. When in reality, most posters, myself included, were quite vocal about and concerned about 1)KC's need to win (i.e. playoffs) this year or probably start looking elsewhere 2) that UD should be playing an FBS team at least every other year 3) that UD shouldn't have more than 1 patsy on the OOC schedule (and having WCU and Duquesne both this year went one too far) 3) that the administration was risking fanbase revolt by potentially jacking up season tix price to 150% without a change in direction (i.e. FBS versus FCS status). How is that ignoring the issues? How does that make someone considered to be Sunshine?
Heck, in some ways, I'm glad you're posting elsewhere these days. While I could respect and abide by HR's intentions for his site and I went out of my way to ignore and not respond to you on GoHens as you repeatedly disrespected and mocked HR and his work (to the point of shutting down his site), this site by no means is worried about being sullied by such exchanges. So by all means, welcome aboard.

Then Bangy tosses in some "ring" story he heard several years ago...another clown thinks it is important to bring in a story that KC, in front of a B-ball crowd no less, told the crowd that HE alone brought a championship to the university...not the student athletes.

Henzone said he shouldn't have had to suffer from such an "attack" as he is just an innocent, long-time Blue Hen fan getting ambushed out of nowhere on a beautiful golf outing because of Keeler's behavior. Watch out Hen fans.....Keeler's behavior will forever tarnish the pride you have in our beloved university.
Of course, to show that he is not just a blind KC hater, Henzone tosses out a line that, in his eyes, KC has has become more personable and humble in recent years.
Odd then, that Henzone feels it necessary to slander Keeler for something that may or may not have happened 3 years ago.
Yup, lots of "facts" there. Overflowing with "intellect" and honesty. Some people challenged the accuracy of such posts and the intent of the posters. Turns out, the story wasn't true....so glad you are on record as supporting Bangy's summary of the thread.

My follow up was directly related to you feeling the need to toss in a line about the "blind KC supporters"...and the nonsense that the KC supporters were out of line for questioning the "facts"...several of which were later admitted to be fabricated, others unsubstantiated, and another simply a cry for help.
