They are deserving as anyone. Numbers 20-35 are interchangable.

I could have put a weak Harvard, a 6-4 UMass, a 6-4 WIU, a 6-4 Texas State, etc.

Who would you have ranked in the top 25 instead of MSU?

Why don't we just make it easy and narrow this down to a top 10 or 15? That's all that's gonna matter come playoff time anyways:

1) JMU
2) ASU
3) Montana
4) Weber
5) Cal Poly
6) Villanova
7) UNI
8) SIU
9) Wofford
10) William & Mary

The rest are all just FILL.

I really don't know. I did watch the entire NAU MSU game and was rooting for MSU the whole time. Boy MSU really didn't want to win that game, as they have in past games they have played. I would love for MSU to be in the top 25, any BSC member for that matter, but the way they have played as of late has been horrendous. The top 25 shouldn't just be the top 10-15 teams that are playing A ball and then the rest are a mix and match jumble. IT should be the top 25 teams that are really playing inspired ball right now and or are finding a way to win games.

Problem is, outside of 15-20 teams, no one is playing inspired ball...

That is a good point, I failed to realize UM would school Utah and Hawaii.

I thought the point of rankings was because all the schools cant play each other so the poll decides how good everyone is. But if 2 teams happen to play, is a poll necessary to say which team is better or worse?

Yea, but...as I hear it from these boards...(from Griz folks)...the reasons they lost were

The ball was wet...the sun got in their eyes...they had to play away from Wa-Griz...they weren't aware the game was on Saturday until late Friday night...they didn't get mints on their pillows at the team hotel...

Otherwise, they'd kick your butts any other time...so they deserve to be higher...(or so I hear...but my school sucks this year, so I guess I should just slink out the back door here and just watch and listen...)

And I think Cal Poly puts up 60 on Elon, at a MINIMUM. And if you can think Cal Poly is no better than 11th, I can think that (despite the outcome on any given saturday), Weber is NOT as good as Montana. In fact, I think if they played again, Montana wins...Weber was up for that game like no OTHER they've played in 10 years...now that they won, they won't have that kind of energy again. :x

welll there's nothing more exciting than having a rematch with someone you already beat...oh wait...

Being 11th isn't a bad thing. Cal Poly gets their #3 spot for beating an FBS. So doesnt matter what we think anyway.

Weber/UM/Cal Poly will get their chance to prove themselves in the playoffs. If WSU ends up beating UM a second time are they still considered not as good?

I'll harken you back to 2005 when Montana beat Cal Poly in the regular season, then lost to them in the playoffs. I think Weber is good...don't get me wrong. I just don't think Montana is anywhere NEAR the same team as when they played Weber. It's like you guys woke up a sleeping giant or something. The whole team (offense, defense, special teams) has been playing about 2 levels above where they played in Ogden. There was a two game stretch there (Central Wa & Weber) where the Griz turned the ball over NINE times. Since then it's been 0 (EWU), 2 (Sac St), 0 (UNC), 1(NAU) and 0 (PSU). That's FIVE games with fewer turnovers TOTAL than we had in Ogden in one day. Now I'm sure Weber's defense had something to do with that, but like I said, I think you guys woke up a slumbering giant. That loss might be the best thing that's happened to the Griz in three years.

Honestly, I'd LOVE a rematch, but just not in the first round.

On that note, in 1987 wsu lost to idaho at home in big sky play. then in the first rd of the playoffs wsu went to idaho and spanked em scoring 59 points.

Exactly. The only thing more difficult than beating a team is beating them TWICE.

It's a toss up between weber and montana right now. If you really look at both teams wins, they are both great and I wouldn't want to bet on a winner (ok, I'm a montana guy so I'de go with the griz). But anyway, I give weber credit, they deserve it. Even though we played bad against them, I still think they are a great team this year. Cal poly is a deserving team as well. I don't think they would put up anywhere near 60 against Elon but they would win. Appy is still the team to beat, even more so than James Madison. That's what I believe anyway.

App. St. is 3-time defending champs, but JMU is the better team. JMU beat at the time of playing the teams beat the #1, #3, #5, #7, and #12 teams. Plus they beat Maine who is a top 20 team after this week. Plus App. St. barely beat Elon whom got crushed by Wofford like 55-25.

Of course app hung 70 on wofford - the #3 team at the time...

Oh yeah, and App had enough confidence to pull AE with only a 5 point lead today.
