who did UMass beat before they lost to Delaware? They are still ranked over Towson even though we beat them?

They beat Hofstra and Brown...both were higher ranked at the time...and with this weeks win over Georgetown, three ranked wins over higher ranked teams...

Thanks.

Didn't Hofstra lose another one this weekend also? OUCH. They NEED to win against Towson now to even have a chance at a CAA slot.

There are your likely #1 and #2 seeds in the CAA, and there are three other CAA teams above them in the rankings.

Of course, if Penn State beats Delaware on Saturday, Delaware drops from #2 to quite possibly out of the tournament. :o Big game coming up this weekend for da Hens.

UMass/Drexel this weekend will also have some bearing on those CAA tourney rankings...

Delaware had a mid-season lull, but has turned it on nicely in primetime.

From TNJ:
Delaware’s 14-10 men’s lacrosse victory at Penn State tonight was its third straight and gave Delaware the No. 2 seed and a home game Wednesday night in the Colonial Athletic Association Tournament.

The Blue Hens (8-6, 3-2) will face the winner of Saturday’s Massachusetts-Drexel game Wednesday at Delaware Stadium at 7 p.m. The loser of that game will be the No. 4 seed and visit No. 1-seeded Towson. The CAA final is May 8 at the higher seed. The winner earns an NCAA berth. Delaware beat UMass 9-6 April 18 and Drexel 10-6 April 25, both in Delaware Stadium.

Senior attackman Curtis Dickson, the national points leader, had six goals for Delaware.

Stony Brook swept the AE defeating Vermont 16-10 last night in the final regular season game. SBU is 10-3 and 5-0 AE and will host Vermont again Tuesday night in the opening round of the AE playoff. Eight SBU players scored goals last night and alot of new freshmen got playing time in the 4th quarter. The AE championship game is May 8th hopefully at StonyBrook.

Agreed, nice little turnaround. Although, except for the Hopkins game, it's not been like UD was ever really bad this year, they just didn't get some early W's. But the CAA's real even amongst the top 5 teams - no one is really heads or shoulders above anyone else. Should be a real tight game against Drexel this week, hopefully the Hens continue this little string of good play.

Looks like he's a second team midfielder: http://www.virginiasports.com/fls/17800 ... amcume.htm

15 games, 13 shots, 4 goals, 3 assists

I doubt they'll miss him a whole lot.

Has to be a distraction though. Especially considering the victim was a women's lax player and I'm sure everyone on the team knew her. Plus, you know the media will love this story and will be dusting off all that file footage from the Duke case.

According to ESPN's Quint Kessenich, the men's and women's programs met Monday, and the athletes discussed the possibility of not playing in the upcoming NCAA tournaments - but no final decision has been reached yet.

With one of the teams players in jail and the other teams player dead, I can imagine how something like this would be difficult to endure. I certainly don't see either going deep if they do decide to play.

Maybe I'm just a different breed, but there's no fucking way I vote to not participate in the tournament if I'm on the #1-ranked team in men's college lacrosse. Pluck the felon from the roster and move on. Why penalize 35 other guys that didn't murder their girlfriend?

The girls I could understand, if they voted to quit. Girls are all sensitive and whatnot.

Congrats to Army on beating Navy for the Patriot League Championship. Two military academies playing for a conference championship is great...and enough to make Cap'nCat vomit.
