Seriously, we carry too much of a burden and it would be irresponsible for us not to be selfish and tend to our selves. If we neglect ourselves any further, we will crash and our beautiful Republic will be a thing of the past. We need serious leaders, serious answers. Currently, there isn't a single politician that I could count on(maybe Ron Paul).

That is right, just like Jesus :)

I would favor a flat tax on all income, even capital gains, with absolutely no deductions, exemptions over our current system.

Oh - and NOTHING for having kids - no extra deductions...
Careful - a positive population growth is something that is actually helping this country. GDP's of other countries, as well as entitlement programs based on a workforce bigger than the groups getting the entitlements, start to become worrisome when people stop having children (or are de-inceticized to have them). We'll get a good picture over the next 1-30 years of what happens to countries that stop having children and the populations skew significantly older.

That thread was another example of "progressives" playing the race card as far as the Tea Party movement is concerned.

How many people have kids because of the deduction? Probably none. If you need a tax break to afford children, then you probably shouldn't be having them.

I fully support spending money on education. I have voted to raise my taxes to support quality schools.

Plus, there are millions of young Mexicans, Nicaraguans, etc dying to pay taxes in the US.

I don't think we'd have seen trillion dollar plus "stimulus" packages, that's for sure.

I just wrote a check to the Federal Jackstompers for mid 5-figures. BEFORE the decimal point. And that's in addition to the mid-5 figures I'd ALREADY paid in through payroll.

**** all of the teet-suckin', money-grubbin', lazy, POS, welfare-usin', crack-smokin', baby-makin' motherfuckers who don't carry their OWN weight in this country. Black or White. Young or old. Liberal or Conservative. You all are **** Exhibit A for legalized abortion.

I've got NO sympathy for you. I've got NO use for you. None. Zip. Nada.

    Sand in your bagina, sweetheart?

If you're writing those checks then you're doing just fine.

Really, Z, you shouldn't be so stingy. There are people out there who need that money a lot more than your greedy ass does.

If they "need that money" so fucking bad, then they can go out and earn it. If I wanted more dependents, I'd get me a mistress or two.

I favor a progressive income tax with zero deductions, loopholes, etc. No difference for capital gains, either.

You make $100K - if the rate for that bracket is 20% - you pay $20K
I would support this plan or a consumption plan with similar stipulations 100%.

You spend $100K on stuff this year, another 20K goes to the Feds.

I agree completely with this statement. We obviously need welfare reform, and people who don't pay taxes or who receive govmint checks should be required to perform some sort of compulsory service in return.

But how do you get people off the teat without better paying jobs and education? Free trade has taken the jobs and states are freezing or cutting education.
