Yankees use a 10th-inning home run from Curtis Granderson to beat the Red Sox 3-1 and win the opening series, 2-1.

Tigers will miss Granderson. Looks like the Twins are going to out-homer everyone this year, even Delmon Young has a couple dingers.Willie wrote:Yankees use a 10th-inning home run from Curtis Granderson to beat the Red Sox 3-1 and win the opening series, 2-1.

Sabathia had a nono in the 8th but that got broken up and the Yankees win 10-0 over the Rays.

I'm out of here soon to head up to the Stadium. Hopefully the weather will shape up - cloudly and high 50's right now.

The Yankees turned their first triple play in more than 40 years in the sixth inning today against the A's.

Big deal. They're 11-4 and have a tie for the best record in baseball.

I am not doggin' the Yankee's. I was just filling in the score because you ommited it. That is all.

Yeah. Turning a triple play is big regardless of the outcome.

I would disagree. A team could turn 7 triple plays in a game and lose. Isn't the point of the game to win? Not trying to be a dick or anything, but having the higher score at the end matters most IMO.Willie wrote:Yeah. Turning a triple play is big regardless of the outcome.

Haven't posted in this thread for a while, but after the 2 ASS WHOOPINGS the Yankees have given the Red Sux I felt it was necessary. 24 runs in 2 games and Boston has to resort to using an outfielder to pitch the 9th...and Teixeira hit about a 450 ft home run off him.

Twins can't seem to buy a win against the Yankees. 12-0 since last season.

Mariano is the one who gave up the jack that gave MN the lead.
Re: Official New York Yankees Thread
Just another reason why Girardi is a dumbass. He should have let Joba finish the inning.

Joba loaded the bases. If a coach is a dumbass for putting Mariano in then...well...wow.Willie wrote:Just another reason why Girardi is a dumbass. He should have let Joba finish the inning.

Re: Official New York Yankees Thread
You obviously don't know the Yankees very much then. I wouldn't argue with me about it. Just trust me, he should have left him in.

Re: Official New York Yankees Thread
So I'm wrong for trusting Mariano more than Joba?
The Yankees mistake was having a righty face Kuebs. If you are going to bring someone in to face him make it a lefty. Kueb can't hit lefties to save his damn life. I would rather face a lefty with my life on the line rather than trust Kueb at the plate vs a lefty this year. He is hitting about .180 off of lefties and something around .260 or .270 off of rightys

Re: Official New York Yankees Thread
Not giving much credit to the Yankees. I like both teams, just below my Tigers. The Twins just haven't the pitching to compete with the Yankees since Gardy took over (now 4-25 at Yankee Stadium). The Twins have a bunch of #2-4's in their rotation, with Liriano having the greatest potential of the group. No great closer either, and that includes Nathan who made everyone nervous when he came in, even at his best.Willie wrote:1-12 still ain't very good.
