Maybe one of the biggest question marks in the conference next year. This is in pdf form...
http://www.nmnathletics.com//pdf8/68335 ... PSID=92391" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
If that doesn't work just go to the PSU athletics site (http://www.goviks.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) and hit the spring football tab.
Still unclear as to how many kids will return from last year due to the coaching change. The roster still lists all of them but I think that is wishful thinking. Hubel will sit out the spring (knee surgery) and it sounds like Howland may be granted another year of eligibility due to injuries. They are talking about capacity at Hillsboro Stadium as being 7825 but FieldTurf was installed this spring there, the same surface as at PGE Park.
Spring ball begins April 5. Spring game in May.
Portland State spring football preview
Re: Portland State spring football preview
Thanks for the post Jalmond. That's a good, detailed write up on the state of the Vikes. A new coach/system and 7 (did I read that right?) road games looks like the making of another long year at PSU. I'm looking forward to seeing that goofy offensive scheme in action though and I hope this is the start of the turnaround that the program needs.

Well i think that "goofy" offense will work really well at PSU as the Nevada Wolf Pack have always been in top 5 in the nation in terms of rushing yardage the past few years and the fact it spreads people out means they can throw alot out of it as well which will benefit their transition. Im really excited to see this offense played at another school and think it will take the conference by surprise and work really well

As long as EWU continues it's current win-streak against PSU, I don't care what type of offense they run.

Portland State should be able to make a lot improvements this year especially with their switch in defenses. They were suseptible to the big play and Coach Burton is known for having good pass defenses. They have a young team and a lot of talented players.

McClintock was a stretch to get another year. It does sound like Howland will get another year, though. We weren't really counting on the NCAA to grant McClintock another year.Keeper wrote:McClintock not getting another eligible year??
