People from Sac. State don't have much to say about that.. smells just as much like cow shit in the Sacramento Valley as it does here, if not moreso.

I feel sorry for Sac. for a number of reasons.. last year's football result against us being just one of them.

Travelled down to SLO for last years game and camped in my tent trailer at a nearby campsite, about two miles from campus. It was the dirtiest camping area I've ever camped at. There was garbage everywhere, not just in the campsites, but along the trails and the roads as well. I was very disappointed to say the least.

The people at the local grocery store and gas stations were very rude, didn't care much for tourists/visitors. It was the last time I will travel to SLO, which is highly overrated IMO. If it werent for the ocean being so close, I'd swear I were in Reno minus the casino's.

But yeah, the Sacramento Valley does smell sometimes.

What campsite are you talking about? And I'm sorry the people at the Shell Station didn't bow before you as you asked to use the restroom key. I am also sorry the other visitors who were not from SLO were rude to you and that somehow made you angry at SLO.

Not to be a jerk, but last time I checked Sac-Town city is now becoming world famous for the tent cities you have springing up- so I can't imagine SLO is worse than that (and I know San Luis is one of the nicest cities in the state and there isn't trash everywhere, so you're a liar) .. I shouldn't have gone there.. but you shouldn't have either.

Yeah, this place is a real dump:

Let's stick to talking football. looks like last year we beat you even though it was a bad year for us, now you won't play us anymore :coffee: thoughts.

Cal Poly was nationally ranked when Sac played them, they also werent injury plagued at the time. It appears that Cal Poly's season didn't get bad until after the third week or so.

And I'm sorry, but every city is blighted by one thing or another. Just because you show some pretty pictures doesnt mean anything, I've been there, I know the truth. There are some pretty scenic pictures in Darfur as well, it doesnt mean it's a nice place.

Besides, most of the pictures you posted might as well have been from Old Sacramento as the architecture is very similar.

By the way, how's the football team enjoying our hand-me-down uniforms from two seasons ago?

Like SD said, Poly's admin sucks. It's not Sac States problem that Poly has the scheduling problems they do, take it up with Cal Poly, not Sac State.

I’ve heard of the tent city in Sac and I am sure it’s not an ideal living situation for anyone. I read about a larger one in Reno. Given the current economy and the way things are going for a lot of people it’s not a laughing matter, way to show some class es. I know you are just trying to prove your point but this is just sad. :ohno:

About the homeless situation- We are taking care of ours per capita here in SLO (and there are many people hit with hard times here as well, as there is everywhere in this country today) during this bad time in American history. The difference between us and Sacville, is, we have just constructed another homeless shelter here so they don't have to live in tents (something it seems Sac seems incapable of handling).

Would you rather act like you don't have a homeless problem, where many people are living in a tent city, or address it?.. Don't demonize me for pointing it out.

Yes most large cities struggle with the homeless issue. It's an ugly issue no one wants to deal with or spend money on. I wasn't trying to demonize you, I just thought calling a city dirty because it has a large number of homeless is weak. Sac isn't the only city that doesn't have enough space in its shelters to house the homeless, there are plenty other cities facing the same problem(s). Kudos to SLO for having the funds and will to handle theirs.

Herky, the camping area and trails were littered by people visiting SLO like yourself. Parks and Rec staff have been cut to the bone and our guest do not do a very good of cleaning up after themselves.

I have never heard from visiting fans of any other team having such a bad time. I am sure there are more than a few rude gas station employees in Sac. Don't let a gas station employee ruin your experience. I don't think you have to worry about another trip, I do not see Sac State traveling down to SLO again any time soon.

I'm sorry, but the Sacto people are out of line on this one.. they came into our thread saying stuff about how our town smells like cowshit, and how they'res trash everywhere and everyone's rude.. All I did was say the guy is full of shit.

That is just rude and out of line.

So, an eye for an eye as they say.. Slostang backing me up or not.

We are all in the same boat in this state and everywhere though- we are all getting screwed by the elite powers that be. I hope us all a better future where we don't even need homeless shelters- this should probably be in the politics section, but, legalize hemp/marijuana (would get our state out of the financial trouble we have right now), and increase spending to state schools/ lower tuition and things will be good again.

I don't mean to hate on Sactown, and it is a lot larger than we are, so the social issues are magnified in a city of 1,000,000+.

The people have to stick together at all times. I am giving you hard time, as Sacramento has a number of good qualities- Old town, the river, the cool old bridges etc.. and proximity to the Sierras (feel free to post some nice pics of Sac.).

Let's bury the hatchet.

Here's the quote,: "People from Sac. State don't have much to say about that.. smells just as much like cow **** in the Sacramento Valley as it does here, if not moreso."

So, that's not about Davis is it?
