Update on the Video Scoreboard at Whitmire Stadium
Construction continues on the new video scoreboard at the south end of E.J. Whitmire Stadium / Bob Waters field on-campus in Cullowhee. Just over a week after the concrete foundation was poured, the steel frame has been erected on site over the past two days. Plans are for the frame to be painted purple on Friday with the video board slated to arrive in Cullowhee on Monday as the installation process continues.
Officials at Western Carolina anticipate having the board up and operational by the football team's annual Spring Game on Saturday, May 1.
Should be nice Are they replacing the existing scoreboard or relocating it from the field house side? It's been a couple of years and I don't remember where the old scoreboard was.

The old scoreboard with small video board is on the field house end..... I have not heard if it will remain. The new board is obviously on the Ramsey end of the field.

Red turf is better than having lacrosse lines painted on the field.. or whatever the fck that is. WTF is this high school GTFoutta here. WCU's stadium is better than Apps. Eat it.

better scoreboard
endzone building
better turf
no track
no other sports' lines on the field (i think)
The team & bandwagon fans may not be better the the stadium sure is.
Whitmire is a nice stadium, but I'm not sure about the scoreboard (we just added a new video board last season), we have a fieldhouse at the end of our endzone (the fieldhouse) and a beautiful backdrop of pines on the South end, our turf is fine, just not quite as new. I'll give you the track and other sports lines on the field - there's also the less tangibles, like gameday atmosphere.
WCU fans, not trying to hijack the thread, just trying to balance BlackFalkin's post.

And you've visited them recently, I'm gathering.........
I'm sure WCU's video board will be very nice, but the pics shown make it inferior (so far - not even wired yet ) than any other video board I've seen. I'll look forward to the finished pics from the catamounts.
I also can't wait to see the maxi pad when you guys put it in that high school stadium of yours.

Your sir, are an idiot
When have you been to WCU's stadium? App? List the dates please before you can EVER be taken seriously on this board again

That board is sweet Ill give you that, but look where it is! Its about 120ft away from the endzone compared to WCU's which is just behind the goal post. No bias bc Im an EWU fan/alum... WCU' is a little better.

I don't think any of us are - we can't even see the finished product. I'm sure it will be great, probably a year or so more advanced (like your turf) than ASU. I was just trying to refute some of the Blackfalkin points, and give him credit where he earns it. I'll be there to see it in person this season (October, right? ).
Scoreboard and video components raised and installed on framework
Cullowhee, N.C. - Construction and installation of the new videoboard at Western Carolina's E.J. Whitmire Stadium / Bob Waters Field continues this week with the most visible progress to date of the project. The board was delivered and erected piece-by-piece this week on the framework just beyond the south endzone -- the Ramsey Center end -- of the football facility.
On-going installation of the fiber-optic lines and additional electronics for running the board continue on-campus.
Officials at Western Carolina anticipate having the board up and operational by the football team's annual Spring Game on Saturday, May 1.
