ELIJAH ADAMIAK (QB, 5-10, 170, Carroll, Ga./Central)
A three-year starter at quarterback ... amassed 1,645 yards of total offense (957 passing, 688 rushing) and 15 touchdowns as a senior ... named second-team all-region following senior campaign ... also played free safety as a prep ... coached by Mike Ledford ... also recruited by Middle Tennessee State, Jacksonville State, Chattanooga and Georgia Southern.
CHRIS AIKEN (DL, 6-1, 310, Austin, Texas/Reagan/Blinn College)

He's from a suburban white-flight school in Atlanta. Obviously Appalachian didn't dig that bit of trivia up. Either his school or Kalik thought it warranted mention.

I love the OL focus after missing out on several last year. I especially love that these guys will get a chance to play all 4/5 years together and hopefully build that cohesion that makes OL's so great.

Why do you care that I care?
It shows a narrow minded viewpoint to care about who was the first black/white/yellow person to accomplish whatever.
Might as well look forward to such things as, "he is the school's first starting white WR in 10 years", or "he is the first asian QB in school's history". How about, the school's first native american defensive end...or the first Jewish coach?
Yeah, jellybone...just another wonderful example of people stuck in stupidity.
