Lafayette lands NE transfer

Andrew Anastor is officially ready to start over.

The 2009 Vineland High School graduate will resume classes -- and his college football career -- at Lafayette College in Easton, Pa., Jan. 23 when the school's spring semester begins.

Anastor recently served a redshirt season at Northeastern University in Boston and was issued shocking news at the campaign's completion when athletic director Peter Roby announced the school was discontinuing its football program.

Despite the frustration, the 6-foot-5, 290-pound offensive lineman is anxious to lend his services to the Leopards, a Division I Football Championship Subdivision team competing in the Patriot League.

"It's definitely exciting to know that I'm going to a place that takes football seriously, has brand new facilities and a great coaching staff," Anastor said Wednesday. "It's good to know I won't be stuck in Boston at school without a program."

Lafayette has a huge recruiting advantage agains the PL teams with the facilities you guys have. The fieldhouse building is ridiculously nice.

If the PL actually approves scholarships, I think Lafayette will be the one that benefits the most and will be a contender in the FCS world rather quickly.
