01/01 - Murray State: We hear that Central Arkansas quarterbacks coach Buster Faulkner is headed to Murray State as the offensive coordinator.

Sam Houston: We hear that defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Scott Stoker will be retained by new head coach Willie Fritz.


12/31 - Bucknell: We are hearing ULL running backs / special teams coach Justin Lustig will interview for the head coaching job at Bucknell

Mississippi Valley State: We hear MVSU is interested in North Alabama DC Karl Morgan, Grambling defensive backs coach Sam Washington, Arkansas Baptist College head coach Richard Wilson, and current high school coach Charlie Brown.

Grand Valley State: We hear Brian Rock (Purdue wide receivers), James Spady (Grambling offensive coordinator), and Matt Mitchell (Grand Valley State defensive coordinator) have interviewed. Lance Leipold (Wisconsin-Whitewater head coach) is expected interview

12/30 - Kansas: We hear that Richmond defensive coordinator Vic Shealy has spoken with Turner Gill about the defensive backs job

Marshall: FootballScoop has learned that Chattanooga defensive line coach Fred Tate has accepted a position on the defensive side at Marshall.

Marshall: Our sources tell us The Citadel defensive line coach Sean Cronin has accepted the defensive line job at Marshall University. Cronin previously served as a GA at Florida, working with Doc Holliday

Central Michigan: We hear CMU may have interviewed Elon head coach Pete Lembo.

12/29 - South Carolina: We hear App State assistant coach Shawn Elliott has interviewed for the offensive line job.

Arkansas-Pine Bluff: Our sources tell us that Central Arkansas wide receivers coach Jerry Mack talked with UAPB head coach Monte Coleman regarding the OC position. Coleman has interviewed 3 or 4 candidates and will make a decision soon.

Colgate: Head coach Dick Biddle has agreed to a 3-year contract extension through 2013.

Southern University (LA): Our sources tell us wide receivers coach Eric Dooley will be retained.

Cornell: We hear Cornell has interest in Nebraska volunteer assistant, Joe Moglia. Moglia is the former CEO of TD Ameritrade.

Youngstown State: Campbell HS (OH) head coach Jeff Bayuk has joined the staff. We have also heard that head coach Eric Wolford spoke with former Akron offensive coordinator Shane Montgomery. VMI linebackers coach Paul Soltis is expected to join the staff.

Southern University (LA): We hear Stump Mitchell talked with former Texas Southern assistant Melvin Spears about a position.

Montana: Calgary Stampeders assistant Dave Dickenson has been offered a job, but Montana head coach Robin Pflugrad doesn’t think Dickenson plans to leave Calgary this year. Mick Delany will remain on the staff.

Chattanooga: Sources tell us that UT-Martin offensive coordinator / offensive line coach Geep Wade has accepted the tight ends and tackles position at Chattanooga.

South Carolina: Spurrier has hired Shawn Elliott from Appalachian State to be his offensive line coach.

Youngstown State: Ron Stoops is the new secondary coach / director of high school relations

Chip West, Old Dominion's assistant head coach and recruiting coordinator, is going to join Mike London's coaching staff at Virginia. Hard to believe a 1st year program losing coaches to a BCS program, this is a big hit for ODU.

UNLV: Bobby Hauck announced that fomer Montana offensive line coach Chad Germer will serve as offensive line coach. Dominic Daste will coach the wide receivers. As we reported last week, Miami (OH) assistant Cedric Cormier has been hired to coach the wide receivers. Ty Gregorak will serve as linebackers coach / recruiting coordinator

Illinois State: We hear Grand Valley State offensive line coach George Barnett has accepted the offensive line job at Illinois State.

Elon: We hear Elon defensive coordinator Jay Bateman has added the title of assistant head coach.

Western Michigan: As expected, former Hofstra head coach Dave Cohen has joined the staff as defensive coordinator. Former Hofstra safeties / nickel backs coach Rich Nagy will also join the WMU staff.

Elon: We hear Elon defensive coordinator Jay Bateman has added the title of assistant head coach.

I'm assuming this means that he'll be next in line after Lembo, but also that Lembo might be moving on to bigger and better things in the near future.

Jackson State: We hear former New Mexico State running backs coach Ernest Wilson will be the new offensive coordinator.

Chattanooga: We hear assistant coach Tony Coode will be moving over to the defensive side of the ball.

Coastal Carolina: Our sources just told us that former Hofstra defensive line coach Kevin Mapp has accepted the defensive line job at Coastal Carolina.

Richmond: It appears Byron Thweatt (linebackers), Dave Legg (cornerbacks/special teams), Kevin Lewis (defensive tackles), Stacy Tutt (running backs) and Bill Polin (offensive line) will all be rehired and work on Latrell Scott’s new coaching staff at Richmond. Fork Union Military Academy assistant Tripp Billingsley will coach the wide receivers. Devin Fitzsimmons (tight ends) and Chad Wilt (defensive line) will also join the staff. Fitzsimmons served as a GA at Virginia last season. Wilt coached the Virginia defensive line.

Pacific University: Former Portland State assistant Jim Craft has been hired as offensive coordinator.

Southern Illinois: Minnesota-Duluth defensive coordinator John Stegar has officially accepted the inside linebackers / special teams coordinator position at Southern Illinois.

Chattanooga: Our sources tell us that head coach Russ Huesman has interest in Elon defensive line coach Marc Yellock

The Citadel: We hear Bob Bodine has talked with coaches at The Citadel.

Furman: We hear head coach Bobby Lamb has interest in UT-Martin defensive line coach Jimmy Lindsey.

Bemidji State: Our sources tell us Wofford video coordinator Yon Boone wil be heading to Bemidji State as defensive grad assistant

Georgia Southern: GA Tech offensive grad assistant Brett Gilliland is now working at Georgia Southern. He accepted the position a few weeks ago, as we reported.

Texas Southern: Our sources tell us that Jo Nixon has joined the staff as linebackers coach and Manny Martinez has joined the staff on the offensive side of the ball. The position that Martinez will coach is to be determined. The offensive GA position is still open.
