while they might be trying to aggressivly expand thats also a great chance for someone that has a bad history to get a fresh start. it's good for both sides really.

Re: Liberty's new stadium!!!
We've turned people away for the past two years. We'll have to continue to do that until we get the dorms to house everyone. We don't, however, turn down people for LU Online. Dr. Falwell never wanted to turn down a kid who wanted a Christian education. That's why our entrance policies are so slack. Getting in and staying in are two different things though.Franks Tanks wrote:Liberty has been accepting virtually all applicants in an effort to agressively expand. Question - how does one get a Christian Education over the internet?SuperJon wrote:We've turned people away for the past two years. I understand the Liberty campus experience, with the convecations, sense of community that has been built very well there. But how do they translate that experience on-line? How is it different than say, University of Phoenix?

Re: Liberty's new stadium!!!
I'm doing it right now. I'm due to graduate (God willing) with my B.S. in Religion in May through the Liberty Distance Learning Program. There are certain things required of residential students (convocations, Christian service, etc.) that are understandably waived for DLP students. But it's the COURSEWORK that makes LU DLP distinct from Phoenix. The methodology (online tests/HW submission, discussion boards, etc.) is quite similar. But all courses are taught from a Christian perspective, and there are certain classes (Church Ministries, Personal Evangelism, etc.) that are required of all students regardless of major. Understandably, Religion majors have more of an emphasis than others, but EVERYONE gets it. And the discussion boards are great for the "sense of community" since there's usually a section of the board for each course set aside for off-topic discussion, and that can get into prayer requests. Students are very good about supporting their classmates.dbackjon wrote:Question - how does one get a Christian Education over the internet?

Yeah, he said it better than I could've. I've only had a few online classes and they've all been in seminary.

I BELIEVE all the professors, residential and dlp, have to be Christians in order to be a teacher for LU. and I completely agree, getting in and staying in are 2 different things. Everyone has an opportunity though.

oh and back to football haha. anyone else think LU is going to be as good or better than when we had Rashad Jennings? I think with pretty much all returning players and Mike Brown at QB there going to dominate. theres a lot of options with mike brown and a lot of talented players. mmmm i can smell the playoffs already

Ha, I made the video that's in your signature.
We've got the chance to be very good this year. It's all about whether the guys get it mentally. We've got some that do, but some that were still struggling with that at the end of the year. Granted, they were sophomores, but for them to get there they have to make the jump mentally. They've got it all physically.

I attended the JMU/LU game last year...it rained steady all day long and the game was very cold at night. The crowd was very good considering.
60,000
That's a lot of people

Re: Liberty's new stadium!!!
so i was just thinking. first off i must say again, next yr is gonna be awesome for LU. GREAT chance of all W's during the regular season. the close ones will be JMU and Stony Brook. seeing how sb is playing at LU and liberty will be better this yr im not too worried about them. every1 else im really not concerned with. i checked out the other teams schedule, who they played how much they won/lost by etc...ima say at the MINIMUM 10-1, our 1 loss possibly being to JMU but I think we'll beat em this yr. cant wait! new stadium on the way and a great team. LU's looking good!!!

While Ball State wasn't that good, you can't mark down an FBS game as an absolute win.
Also, while we're getting better, Stony Brook hit the jackpot in transfers this off-season. They'll be right up there again. We'll also only have about 10-12,000 there for that game since our students will be gone for Thanksgiving.

I heard this rhetoric right before we beat you last year. Liberty and Stony Brook seem to once again be the class of the Big South. Coastal should be much improved due to their Hofstra transfers as well. Should be a great season for the Big South.kuntryboimike wrote:ya i checked ball state there STRUGGLN! and sb. we'll see wut happens. ive still got my money on LU winning. there fast, there strong, they can run any kinda play when they want, and theyve got the best fans of anyoneGO FLAMES!!!
It seems that once again our team's last game of the season might be the conference championship game, and it'll take till midseason to make any prognostication as to how it goes.
That being said, I wouldn't count your wins quitee yet.
