The Greatest App Ever has been invited to the 2010 National Football League Scouting Combine Feb. 24-March 2 – “Athletes will also participate in a variety of psychological and physical tests, as well as, formal and informal interviews with top executives, coaches and scouts from all 32 NFL teams.”
Not really a surprise, but good to hear it's official that he can now show them what he can do.
It's official - AE is going to the combine...

I heard that "Lawn Mowing" was being added to the combine. His stock will probably fall (or go up if he proves he can do it without slicing his foot!)
Seriously, congrats to him.

That is great news!
"Born in other countries, yet believing you could be happy in this, our laws acknowledge, as they should do, your right to join us in society, conforming, as I doubt not you will do, to our established rules. That these rules shall be as equal as prudential considerations will admit, will certainly be the aim of our legislatures, general and particular." --Thomas Jefferson, letter to Hugh White, 1801

First, let's wait to see how he does in the NFL before calling him the greatest App ever. After all, Dexter Coakley set the precedent for winning back to back national awards and did play 10 years in the NFL and went to, I believe, 3 Pro Bowls.ASUG8 wrote:http://www.charlotteobserver.com/sports ... 62974.html

Second, it was official on December 30th when the invite arrived!
One thing that most people don't realize is that nothing a player does between then and later this month, when they actually finalize the combine list by adding more seniors and underclassmen, is that those seniors added are based on the top vote getters who were not put on the initial list and not anything they did in an all-star game.

Haha yeah the young crowd seems to either forget Coakley or they never saw him play. I would say AE and DC are two of the best players ever in FCS history. Just not sure you could say one is better for sure because you could make arguments for both. The one thing Coakley has over AE is that he did set the precedent for winning back to back national awards. It is just great to see the NFL invite Edwards because he truly deserves it.ASUG8 wrote:Not my words, just pasted from appfan.com.
