How come those purple Christian girls look so much hotter than those Boise State girls? Could it be because they're from Texas?

Re: Fiesta Bowl Boise State vs. TCU
McNeese was never 1A, were they? I do know that the FCS (IA) was the host of the Independence bowl at its inception. SLC vs. an at-large. After 5 years it went to 2 at-large's and then it was handed to the SEC in 1995 but then Big 12 since 1998. I tried to get the story on this but never got an answer as to why FCS gave up/lost it. Though I bet it has something to do with the playoffs. McNeese was in 3 of those 5 IAA Bowls.
This is from Wiki:
For its first five years, the game pitted the champion of the Southland Conference against an at-large opponent. It then moved to inviting two at-large teams, until 1995 when it began featuring a Southeastern Conference school against an at-large opponent.
Since 1998 the game has normally featured a matchup between teams representing the Big 12 Conference and the SEC. Teams from other conferences are included only if one of those leagues does not have enough bowl-eligible teams to fill its spot, such as in 2004 when Miami (Ohio) played instead of an SEC squad. In 2008 neither the SEC nor the Big XII had enough bowl-eligible teams to fill their respective spots resulting in a matchup of Louisiana Tech and Northern Illinois.
Beginning in 2010, the Independence Bowl will hold the third selection from the Mountain West Conference and the seventh selection from the Atlantic Coast Conference.[2] If the conference tie-ins with the MWC and ACC had started in 2009, the game could have featured Utah and Florida State.

Re: Fiesta Bowl Boise State vs. TCU
I assume they were. I-AA started in 1978 and McNeese did not move to that subdivision until 1982. The Cowboys went to the 1976, 1979, and 1980 Independence Bowls. They were just "Division I" in 1976 but since I-AA started in 1978 I assume they had to have been I-A 1979 - 1981. Something happened such that all of the Southland schools except McNeese and Southwestern Louisiana were forced into I-AA. McNeese chose to remain with the Southland and move to I-AA while Southwestern Louisiana...now known as Louisiana-Lafayette...chose to remain I-A as an independent.McNeese was never 1A, were they?

Well, at this point I guess I'll have to admit they can't run the football like I thought they could.

Am I the only one who keeps hearing the "Leave it to Beaver" song in my head when I look at the Boise State QB?

Re: Fiesta Bowl Boise State vs. TCU
Boise gaining confidence from TCU early arrogance, and help from BCS protective, and nearly deceased officials.
The most glaring difference at the start of the 4th quarter is the discipline being demonstrated by Boise, a testament to their racial balance, TCU is just too damn black. Everyone knows you need a healthy balance, not too many honkeys, but certainly not too many bloods.

Re: Fiesta Bowl Boise State vs. TCU
You know, the thing about this is that there's a lot of hype. Neither of these teams is really top 5 in caliber. They keep talking about Clemson and TCU and both of these are basically about the same caliber Clemson is. If you put either of these two teams as they're currently constituted into any BCS league other than possibly the Big East it is very, very unlikely that we'd be talking about them being undefeated or ranked in the top 10 much less the top 5.

TCU has not played good football tonight. Their play calling has been suspect at best. Dalton w/ two keepers in the red zone.. terrible, Boise's been eating up that read zone all night.

Re: Fiesta Bowl Boise State vs. TCU
I wish Boise State had gone to the Sugar Bowl to play Florida. Watching Florida blow out Boise State would've been much more satisfying then watching them blow out Cincinnati was. I was hoping that TCU would be as good as advertised so I could see Boise State get blown out that way. But TCU is clearly not as good as advertised. No way the Horned Frogs have any business being ranked in the top 5.MrTitleist wrote:TCU has not played good football tonight. Their play calling has been suspect at best. I kind of thought that going in. People made a big deal out of them beating Clemson and Virginia. But Clemson is a 5 loss team that got smacked by South Carolina. And Virginia is a 3 WIN team that got smacked by William & Mary.

TCU was definitely as good as advertised, but they just flat out didn't show up to play football tonight. Their D has been leaving guys open all night, Dalton's off, and they can't run the football. Not a good night for TCU, but they are definitely a top 5 team.

Boise again, has showed up to play. TCU overconfident and under prepared. No BCS auto for MWC and for sure, no BCS auto for the lopsided WAC.
Big college football sucks, big time.

Why not for the MWC? If Boise holds on, the MWC would be 4-1 in the bowl season. Best among conferences, for the 2nd year in a row.Wedgebuster wrote:Boise again, has showed up to play. TCU overconfident and under prepared. No BCS auto for MWC and for sure, no BCS auto for the lopsided WAC.

I would love to see the MWC take on the top of the other big conferences. That record would be switched completely.Willie wrote:Why not for the MWC? Seriously both teams were unimpressive - I would love to see Florida or Texas just absolutely roll one of them.

Great. Now I have to listen to another year of hype about a team that would be middle of the pack at best in the SEC.

Re: Fiesta Bowl Boise State vs. TCU
Clock strikes 12 for the cinderella MWC, they had to be perfect to have a chance to break into the BCS monopoly. Turned back reform in big league college football for five years IMO.
More terrible hype for over rated PAC 10, Big 12, Big 10, and all those insufferable bastards in the east and southeast.
Nobody loves a true monopoly better than America, I always say.
Let the mythical national champions reign, true championship football does exist in every single league, conference, and organization of sports in the world, except major college football. Whores to the almighty corporate dollar, and all the insufferable douches that pontificate the bowell system.
Whoa nelly, grand daddy of 'em all brown stained tidy bowls.
