I thought something was in the works clear back when he took his name out of the running for the PSU job. Had a hunch something big was going to happen.
Pflugrad is a good hire. Portland State would have loved to have him here. Griz should not miss a beat.

He came to Montana to take the job...
B.H. knew he was leaving soon R.P. came in knowing he was going to get it
SeattleGriz said it a month ago ... it was a: Done deal when he came over this year
The only surprise is how long it took to make the announcement

It wasn't a done deal when he came here but it was something on the minds of the administration. It was good positioning by O'day but it was not the only plan and if D. Doeren would have wanted the job yesterday then we would be talking about him today. I am happy things worked out as they did because I'm a big fan of Pflugrad.Chizzang wrote:JALMOND wrote:I thought something was in the works clear back when he took his name out of the running for the PSU job. Continuity in Missoula assured. I seriously doubt they offered the job to anybody in front of him.

Believe I might have actually seen him play a game in Greeley, Colorado in 1978. Neil Lomax was the PSU QB at that time.

Glad we got him but Doeren was offered early and had until 5pm MST on 12/31 to accept from what I got. I don't know if Pflu & Pease were offered at the same time or not but they were alerted they were finalists on 12/31. It may have been a race to accept but it was not in Pflu's pocket from the get go. I'm glad Pflu got it and I hope he incorporates some of the Don Read offensive philosophy to the program again.Wedgebuster wrote:Continuity in Missoula assured. ...and I hope he adds some inginuity to the defensive scheme. Back to the days when offenses had to figure out where Trey Young was because he would blitz the snot out of you...Ursus A. It will be interesting to see if Breske is in the mix cuz that would definitely mean an imaginitive defensive scheme.putter wrote:...and I hope he adds some inginuity to the defensive scheme.
