South Dakota State played them tough for 3 quarters, hell they dominated them for nearly 3 quarters. Appalachian State also played them tough. The only team in the playoffs that didn't was SFA.dbackjon wrote:Funny how many of those so call "cupcakes" played Montana tougher than any team other than Villanova in the playoffs.kemajic wrote: Doubtful; most of comes from Griz fans tired of the lame competition Montana plays in the regular season. Re: 2010
Looking at Chuck South, they should be pretty strong next year. Only loosing the right tackle and TE on offense. Defensively we loose Ard, McKain and Bach which is a lot to loose, but the guys that will take their place are pretty good in their own right. Also, need to replace the long snapper. Heck, everyone picked us to finish close to last in the Big South this year and we tied for runner up. Next year oughta be even better.

2010 Liberty schedule
September
4--St. Francis (PA)
11--at Ball State
18--at Robert Morris
25--at James Madison
October
2--Savannah State
9--Charleston Southern
16--at VMI
30--at Presby
November
6--Gardner-Webb
13--at Coastal
20--Stony Brook
Good to see the NEC-Big South matchups although I'm surprised that Liberty is traveling to RMU.

Good thing they got the autobid this year.
Non-conference trio of Robert Morris, Savannah State, St. Francis is pathetic.
Only hope of at-large, if needed, is to start the season 8-0

Ball State makes it a little better, but yeah, barring an undefeated season, they'll likely need the AQ to get a bid.dbackjon wrote:Good thing they got the autobid this year.

Re: 2010
Hey, who's responsible???
Fix needed on SLC schedules for 2010
Nicholls (NSU) can not be playing SHSU and TXST both on the same day - Oct 9
(ok, they could but they'd be wiped and the logistics would be a nightmare)
and
Northwestern (NWS) can not have a bye and a game against TXST on the same day - Oct 16
Usually NWS and MSU have alternate BYES when one is playing OOC during conference play. Right now I would be wary of filling in any more until other schedules come out.
As far as I know only SFA, SHSU, UCA and Lamar have released schedules. UCA is a game short so need to add one more. Everything else is almost pure speculation, except for obvious reciprocal games that can be filled in....which I have done here:

Re: 2010
Through some info and deductive reasoning, here's an updated App schedule
9/2 or 9/4 @ UTC
9/11 non-conference home
9/18 home or bye
9/25 home or bye
10/2 @ Samford
10/9 Homecoming
10/16 vs The Citadel
10/23 @ Western Carolina
10/30 vs Elon
11/6 @ Georgia Southern
11/13 vs Wofford or Furman
11/20 @ Florida
Bold is confirmed. Italics means it's the only possible option looking at other schedules and provided info. I'd bet the last home game is Furman though.

follow the color coded charts. If a team is listed with white background its nothing more then just thrown in anywhere for the time being.CatMom wrote:Hey, who's responsible???

Using your chart, the only common open date for Nicholls and Texas St is Oct 16. If you fill that in, then that leaves McNeese v. Nicholls on Oct 30 (the only common open date for those teams). The dominoes then begin to fall....
Also, SELA plays @UL-Monroe on 25 Sep. That should help you fill out the rest.
I have right now, open dates for:
UCA - 4 Sep and 2 Oct
MSU - 18 and 25 Sep
NWS - 25 Sep and 16 Oct

Does Montana pay for these teams to come in? Didn't they play Albany a year or so ago? If they pay to get teams in and out, I can't think of a reason teams here in the east wouldn't bite. Towson especially. We're looking for a fresh scheduling. Our OOC games are stale. Morgan State, Colgate, blah, blah, blah. We've signed up for two away game contracts before versus Delaware back in tour independant days. Two D.II schools is lame.AZGrizFan wrote:I'm talking about the fact that we have a "non-counter" AND a transition school in the SAME year. NWS will have their bye Oct 16 to offset MSU playing LSU. They play TXST on Oct 23 not Sept 25, as listed on the schedules page. No idea who they have there, as yet.
