Anyone else been following the collosal meltdown of mike? ESPN reporting he has enlisted the assistance of Tony Dungee to serve as his "mentor".
I have followed him since he arrived in Champaign with Zook at the University of Illinois. Was thinking he would be a good candidate for our open coaching job last winter. WOW what a mess he's making of a good football program.

Before the season even started faced EEOC charges of age/sex/racial discrimination from a staffer in the football office or athletics office. Recently suspended 10 days, was not on the sidelines for a game, for punching an assistant coach in the face.grizband wrote:I haven't been following this story - what are the details behind his issues?
Towson fans, what gives with this guy, every thing I've ever seen or read on him was positive, that he is a straight shooter and first class guy, now all this mess.

You mean me? 
Locksley was a teammate of mine, two years ahead of me. He's a good coach and incredible recruiter who was eventually banned from Towson's campus because he was poaching our players while coaching at Maryland(Madieu Williams and several others).
The discrimination thing when he first arrived was a house cleaning incident and went away fairly quickly when the truth came out. The assistant coach punching incident was more of a big deal, but it looks like New Mexico is giving him a second chance. Not overly surprising if you knew him back in his playing days.
His son is coming to Towson to play QB next year.
I was really surprised he didn't get the Syracuse job and went to New Mexico. He's a DC guy with strong recruiting threads there.
