Hofstra Transfer List
As per Uncle Buck - Coach Coen sent an email with the following transfers:
The notes next to the kids names are UB's.
Barr Quincy - Delaware - I loved this kid in the spring and summer, will be a player.
Brown Kevin - Fordham/E. Kentucky
Cameron Ronnie - Old Dominion - tough nose kid who gets to the ball.
Cruz Jose - Syracuse
Dangerfield Jordan - Towson - Young with a great knack for the ball.
Dennis Christian - Elon - not a burner but has phenomenal hands
Dima Anthony - UMASS - Huge kid, could be another solid UMass o-lineman
Francklin Reggie - Stonybrook - undersized, hits anything that moves.
Gaida Said - Albany - Tough kid, undersized but a competitor
Glass Coy - Indiana State
Harrell Jaren - Sacramento St. - Solid on the o-line
Hartsfield Johnny - Coastal Carolina - Great athlete for a big man, will be a player
Heron Garrett - Duquense
Hudeen Basim - Idaho St. - Undersized, weird place to end up, but an athlete
Jackolski Brock - Stonybrook - Probably best all around athlete at HU
Jacobs Omar - Maine - Strong d-lineman that hold his own
Johnson Dontavious - Coastal Carolina
Johnson Zamel - Temple
Koonce Carlton - Fordham - 4 years left, great athletic ability
Massimino Roland - Tufts/John Hopkins
Mayo Deron - Old Dominion - Undersized end for us, but man can he play

Nelson Anthony - UMASS - Fast, fast, fast, can make plays
Ottaiano Tom - Monmouth
Paulemon Jordy - Villanova - Strong as an ox, will be a nice addition

Talbert Nicholas - Fordham
Thomas Christopher - Coastal Carolina
Weaver Aaron - Syracuse

The scattered homes makes me think that Coach Cohen really went out of his way to find these kids a place to play.dbackjon wrote:They scattered to the winds.

As for SBU, I expected that. A lot of the kids they got were Long Island kids or kids that have ties to the program already. SBU and Hofstra were actually killing each other on LI. Now that the talent pool isn't being dispersed I expect to see SBU make a big leap in the next few years. Especially with the facilities and coach they have.

Great news...between this kid, and another O-Lineman from Northeastern, one of the biggest holes for UMass next season appears to be well on it's way to being filled...danefan wrote: Dima Anthony - UMASS - Huge kid, could be another solid UMass o-lineman

The player Sac State landed was from CA. I was surprised that we landed a transfer as well. Well done by the Sac State coaches to keep their ears and eyes open on that one.dbackjon wrote:They scattered to the winds.

Re: Hofstra Transfer List
Keep in mind that these kids transfer "free of charge." That is, they play immediately without loss of eligibility. I would know, having been through this cr@p. Of course, this begs the willingness of the new staff to accept a player, which in these cases is a given; it wasn't in mine.... Thank God Pielstick is gone....

Re: Hofstra Transfer List
A lot of these kids are or will be very good players at their new homes. I wish them all the best and look forward to following how they do with their new program.
As for SBU, i think Danefan is right. While LI is not a deep talent pool for football, Priore is a good coach and i think he will win over a lot of the local talent to stay home, especially with no Hofstra in the mix. Though i still can't believe the SOB Rabinowitz cut the program.

Re: Hofstra Transfer List
In addition to DE Barr Quincy (could be a So in 2010 due to a redshirt) from Hofstra, UD has picked up safeties Kyle Hunt (So in 2010) and Darryl Jones (Jr in 2010), from Northeastern.
We're fishing for another player from Hofstra. Hope we're using the right bait.

Re: Hofstra Transfer List
I've said it before, but i think Barr will be a solid player. From what i saw in spring and summer camp, he has a great motor with very good strength. Can't wait to hear who the next possible transfer could be, i haven't spoken to anyone over there in a while so i have nothing new.Cluck U wrote:In addition to DE Barr Quincy (could be a So in 2010 due to a redshirt) from Hofstra, UD has picked up safeties Kyle Hunt (So in 2010) and Darryl Jones (Jr in 2010), from Northeastern.

The fact is... there are many FCS schools who have had far more transfers than has had UD in recent years.. but If the lable 'Tansfer U' means getting the 'best'.. rather than the most transfers.. then Delaware has no doubt proudly earned the Transfer U label. As for the Hens... it's been QUALITY.. rather than quantity that has obviously irratated a lot of FCS fans...
