Organizationally, we gotta look out for each other...it's how we earn our reputation as the BEST conference, and everyone affiliated with us is family and has their role in the system. I mean, no one really respects the mafia, but you don't want to encounter them either. And when you do face the top CAA men, even though you may hide it, you know there's a chance you'll end up on the losing side...whatever that means. Occasionally, we're involved in a police raid and set back like Appy did to us for three years, but we're never killed off...always lurking and reorganizing. That said though, there's always an internal struggle in the family too. Everyone's trying to plot in becoming the next CAA Boss. See, the top of the organization makes the big mula, but the rest are kinda left to survive as long as they are granted some pseudo-respect. But if you win, you'll be noticed no matter what. Delaware is a bit of a different story though. They're like the mafia leader that went to jail; always respected but powerless (until he gets out and becomes a threat to become the boss again). On that note though, we'll have our casualties but young recruits will be found to replace them. Northeastern and Hofstra had to pay for their lives because of their sins, but ODU and GSU will come in and the cycle of tryin' to move from the bottom to the top of the organization will naturally happen.
Montana, well, they're like that police officer we don't like...so we kill 'em and their family. Doesn't matter who does the job. As long as they're dead, the whole mafia is celebrating.

The Big East wishes that they were as dominant as the CAA.dbackjon wrote:Congrats to the Big East

His mistake was getting sucked into this discussion. His team has had a great 5 year run, but he lowers himself into an anti-CAA discussion. Why any ASU fan would give a fuck about the CAA is beyond me.Cluck U wrote:jelly quietly leaves the stage with his head between his legs...hoping he won't be noticed.

I think Villanova winning the championship is all that matters.Big props to Nova.

I agree.ASUMountaineer wrote:Cluck U wrote:

You didn't even mention Villanova.Villanova won and I gave them props. You should do the same, instead of claiming it as a championship for the CAA as opposed to a championship for Villanova.
BTW, Foxworthy, we root for other SoCon teams to do well (like when WoCo beat Montana), but when Georgia Southern won championships, we congratulated GSU. We didn't brag about the SoCon. Only Georgia Southern won the National Championship, not the SoCon. Same situation here. The CAA didn't win anything, but Villanova sure did.
That was my point.

They definatley feed off each other, but it is mostly in good fun from both sidesBlueHen86 wrote:I agree.ASUMountaineer wrote:

I've always maintained that the only thing that matters is that a conference is good enough to get at large bids, which the CAA, SoCon, MVC, SLC and Big Sky were this year.
I just like having fun with the haters though, it seems to me that the anti-CAA sentiment on this site outweighs the pro-CAA homerism.

Exactly, that's the only time conference matters.BlueHen86 wrote:I agree.ASUMountaineer wrote:

As to the CAA-hate...perhaps it does, and like above, I agree the sides feed each other. I think that carried over from AGS where the pro-CAA homerism was unabashed. I don't hate the CAA, but I do hate some of the teams in the CAA.

I agree with that!Grizalltheway wrote:I for one wouldn't have given 2 shits about the CAA, I would have been too happy about winning our 3rd NC to care. But alas...BlueHen86 wrote:

Exactly, I wasn't at the Richmond vs App Game, but I was on the sidelines for the Richmond vs Elon game. Elon had 2 close calls with TD receptions called out of bounds, then a missed 27 yard field goal. Then the blocked 53 yarder as time expired. Other than the 70+ yard run by Richmond's QB, they really didn't do anything with the ball all day. So that 1-1 for the SoCon could very realistically be 1-0.Pwns wrote:You forget that Richmond got a gift TD from ASU on that punt that was dropped in the end zone.Cluck U wrote:

And that Richmond didn't exactly "sleepwalk" through Elon.

So, if AZGrizFan, a week ago, says that Villanova didn’t have a prayer against the Montana/App game winner, and Skjellyfetti puts in a nodding head…then anyone with half a brain would agree that both were predicting that the winner of the Montana/App game would beat nova and win the championship (unless you think jelly's bobbing head was not a signal of agreement and was instead a secret note about his desire to "service" AZGriz - your call on that one if you think you know him better).Skjellyfetti wrote:AZGrizFan wrote:Not that they had a prayer against the Montana/App game winner anyway....
