Congrats to Moats! Well deserved. 2nd JMU player to win the Buchanan:

Derrick Lloyd won it in 2000'

(notice how this 2001 article someone went back in and edited, as the term FCS didn't even exist until the 06' postseason).

DE Chris Morant was a finalist in 01',
Akeem Jordan was a runner up in 06'
FS Tony Lezotte came in 7th in 07'
FS Marcus Haywood came in 6th in 08'

Wonder who the next one will be for JMU ?? (not necessarily a winner but a finalist).

Can't believe Tony Lezotte finished that low. That dude was an animal his whole career.

True about Lezotte. I'm just going off of what someone posted on the JMU caazone board that he was 7th in 07'.
