I have compiled a list of juniors who will get looks next year. This is not the complete list but just the top 50 or so names at this point. Keep in mind that things are likely to change a lot between now and then.

What is your opinion of Chase Reynolds? Do you really not think he has a chance at the next level?

He is on my list of prospects but I don't have him in my top 50 FCS players. I would say he is a tryout or free agent type at this point. He is a very good college back that will deserve a shot in camp if he keeps producing but there are so many good RBs out there that the ones who are drafted usually tend to have something special about them. I see Reynolds as a solid all around back who has 33 catches, which shows he is a solid receiver, but his yards per carry average (4.7) is a little down for a back with the type of line he has. If you look at most backs who go to the NFL they average 5.0-7.0 yards per carry. If you look at the small school backs high on the NFL radar at this point (Karim (7.1), Bell (6.4), Coker (5.2), Paschall (6.7), Ford) they all have high yards per carry averages. Now, his average was over 5.0 last year and part of the reason I am not saying he has no shot is because he could come out and be a big play guy next year.

His senior year will be key as he needs to bulk up some to the 200-210 range. As far as I know he is 195 now and if you look at the average NFL team their backs either weigh over 200 or if they don't they are shorter and very compact. Look at the Seahawks for example out near your way. Justin Forsett is only 194 but he is 5'8, which is like being 215 or so at 5'11. Julius Jones is 5'10 208, Louis Rankin is 6'1 205, and Tyler Roehl is 5'10 233. Then look at an east coast team like the Panthers who have Mike Goodson (6'0, 212), Jonathan Stewart (5'10, 235), Tyrell Sutton (5'8, 213), and DeAngelo Williams (5'9, 217). Then look at an undefeated team like the Colts with Joseph Addai (5'11, 214), Donald Brown (5'10, 210), Mike Hart (5'9, 206), Chad Simpson (5'9, 216). With Reynolds being 5'11 195 that is very light for a NFL back.

One thing to remember about RBs is that unless they are a big back (over 200-210 range) many of them also have return ability and Reynolds has no experience in that either.

A guy I'd like to keep an eye on is Southern's Jason House, he lead the nation in interceptions. I know he'll have to bulk up a bit, but he's a great leaper and fit in pretty well playing on defense for the first time this year.

I can't wait for next year to see what Renard Williams does. I knew he was going to be something special after the way he played against Texas Tech last year. This year he had 9 and a half sacks and 16 TFL. I can see him winning the Buchanan either next year or his Senior year.

Weber's Mike Phillips should have a great year in 2010 and stay in contention for the draft if his hamstring heals properly.

Other potential candidates for the league include: safety Jordan Brown (6-2, 175), tight end Cody Nakamura (6-2, 240), and yes, quarterback Cameron Higgins (6-2, 210).

Cameron's stats are well known. After this year's performance, I am not yet touting him, but his potential ought to be evident. Seven of his ten teammates who finished the season as offensive starters return for 2010, along with the likely return from injury of pre-season All-American TE Cody Nakamura.

The staff has apparently petitioned the NCAA for a sixth year of eligibility for Nakamura, a workaholic expected to achieve full recovery from his early season knee injury.

Brown was a JC standout for national finalists Snow College in 2008, and had a fantastic debut year for Weber, finishing with 97 tackles and assists, 3 interceptions, 4 pass breakups and 7 pass deflections.

KB, having missed most of the season, still ranks in the top 20 active leaders for APRs. However, 18 of those 20 are Seniors. I applaud you having him as Jrs to watch but we, at this point, don't know if he got a medical redshirt or not. So, he may or may not be a RS Junior next season. If I find out I'll let you know.

LG - Jason Hannan (transfer from OU and converted from C)
RLB - Marcus Clark (older brother played for us on the 2004-07 teams and was pretty damned good too)
CB - Drenard Williams (had medical redshirt)
WR - Da'Marcus Griggs (if not for an injury he would have been over 1000 yds in 2009)
DE - Ron Jackson (transfer from AZ)

Not saying any of these guys will be the best at their job in the FCS but they are ones to keep tabs on.

I like Phillips. From what I saw of Higgins this year he is not a prospect at all. He is too small, has a weird throwing motion, and throws too many picks. That would be great for Nakamura.

Brown is a possible guy from what I saw.
