Re: The only real question is?
You know what's funny about this week is that there are a lot of UM and ASU folks on the site, but it's the CAA guys talking all the smack about the game.
I don't have any hatred for the Griz, but rather a healthy respect for what they've accomplished. I've thrown a few good natured jabs, but it seems the ASU faithful are having to defend themselves against beating a team that nearly ran the gauntlet through the CAA (conference co-champs) that suddenly somehow became the 4th best team in the conference.
That game's over, cudos to the Spiders, and let's move ahead to UM.
Re: The only real question is?
Why is it that when CAA guys say anything it is smack, but when an ASU or UM guy says anything it is just a "good natured jab"? For the most part, on both sides, all I've seen is some good natured jabbing ( with just a splash of over-the-topness, on both sides).ASUG8 wrote:You know what's funny about this week is that there are a lot of UM and ASU folks on the site, but it's the CAA guys talking all the smack about the game.I don't have any hatred for the Griz, but rather a healthy respect for what they've accomplished. I hear ya. In fact of all the teams in the FCS (besides the Griz) I really like the fans of McNesse st, GSU and App st. I will always root for those teams as long as they aren't playing the Griz. These teams have great fans who usually aren't arrogant jerk-offs like most CAA or UNI fans.ASUG8 wrote:You know what's funny about this week is that there are a lot of UM and ASU folks on the site, but it's the CAA guys talking all the smack about the game.I don't have any hatred for the Griz, but rather a healthy respect for what they've accomplished. Re: The only real question is?
No, my point was that there hasn't been a lot of smack thrown between the two teams themselves, but rather a few CAA guys diminishing both UR's accomplishments and by proxy the quality of the win by ASU. I don't really care much - personally I saw a solid UR team fight it out with what I believe to be a good ASU team Saturday. I haven't seen the Griz play at all, only what I've read. I'm just surprised that as much as we've been hearing about how good the CAA is this season (and I believe it) some of the CAA posters don't believe UR is all that good in spite of beating all but one in their division. It's hard to kick UR to the curb after the season they had - I don't think anyone from Elon or ASU would call them a #4 CAA team especially as a CAA co-champ.bandl wrote:Why is it that when CAA guys say anything it is smack, but when an ASU or UM guy says anything it is just a "good natured jab"? Re: The only real question is?
There are way more Griz and App fans here representing their schools compared to us CAA guys. You lump us all in together as "CAA fan" and we can come close to out numbering you. We see that it makes you nervous and all pile on.
Plus all us live in populated areas and that always pisses you hillbillies off.

We all flipped coins as to who we would stand behind (should our school not be in the playoffs anymore). Not our fault that the other conferences don't have a coin to flip!ASUG8 wrote:No, my point was that there hasn't been a lot of smack thrown between the two teams themselves, but rather a few CAA guys diminishing both UR's accomplishments and by proxy the quality of the win by ASU. You can never sound like that douche, unless you starting validating a teams credibility by the amount of draft picks they have had

Re: The only real question is?
I have read the "smack" about App (over on the darkside). Funny how App beats Richmond and most of the CAA posters I have read now say the the Spiders were only the 3rd best team in the conference...how do you figure? it is opinion only and makes it look better that the 3rd best team made it to the quarters and lost to App. some other posters said the Richmond was overrated because they only "squeaked" by in their wins vx. Elon, Delaware etc. Funny how perspective changes to make a point. I though UR was a pretty good team that got beat by an App team that refused to lose.

Anyway:
Considering the entire spectrum of Douchebaggery - being one in a kind of passive defacto manner - such as you are - is perhaps the least offensive way to go about acquiring such a moniker
