Stop. UNI held fast with several good teams...although they didn't win against their 3 quality opponents,...they came close and had a much better resume than WSU.
Many people said WSU had a shot at W&M. Even I thought there was a SLIVER of a chance since their passing game might have a shot at a few long plays to UPSET W&M. But I didn't think...and nor should anyone have thought, that WSU had a shot at grinding it out versus W&M. No chance...NONE.
UNI., on the other hand, could dispose of a lot of teams in the FCS playoffs. You haven't seen them play. W&M will stop anyone's ground game. But, it is a question of respecting the ground game...and WSU had nothing that resembled a run. UNI would not have had a run game against W&M, they would have have a chance by keeping the game close. That's all you can ask. W&M probably woud have beaten UNI, but not in a blowout.
Your "logic" is laughable. And since (like just about every UD fan here) you're just trying to get under BSC fans' skin I'm going to disengage from the discussion. When you are ready to talk rationally about UNI's "chances" let us know.
I talked about it above, Z. He, and you, should let UNI go. Concentrate on the next job at hand for the Griz.
Fact is, Weber was not good enough to make a playoff run, and were a marginal playoff team to begin with.
UNI just had one of those years where the breaks didn't go their way alot of the the time. But, UNI has a team capable of winning the whole thing. Weber, EWU, and EIU can't say the same.

DJH,
Pardon me, but you're "pulling a clenz" here. We lost, we're not in the playoffs. They are. Best of luck to them. We'll never know anything until we get into the playoffs against BSC teams again. That will take a year, at least.

Too bad they pissed it away.
Here's a tip for you: EIGHT teams every year that get into the playoffs aren't "good enough to make a playoff run". That doesn't mean they should be replaced by a team that couldn't beat Illinois State.

DJH, do you see what I mean about "pulling a clenz"? See what it gets you? There is an old adage that goes, "Don't attract unnecessary attention". If you want to continue to attract derogatory attention to your school's football program's failures in 2009, continue down this path. I'll just say that it makes it uncomfortable for your fellow patriots.

If your argument made ANY sense, we'd be happy to listen....
You made arguments that the 38-0 beating that Weber took wasn't that bad.
Hey, Flip-Flopper, YOU'RE the one who said "sometimes it just ain't your day" in explaining away an inexplicable loss to Illinois State to shit any hopes of a playoff berth down their leg....

"sometimes it aint your day" is getting shutout by 38?
UNI lost to ISU on the last play of the game.
I'm trying to talk about the strength of the Big Sky, yet you bring up UNI in every post.

Might I remind you Weber got shutout by 38 to a 10-1 team from the best conference in America? You lost to Illinois Fucking State. The same ISU that lost to EIU 31-6. The same ISU team that lost to SDSU 38-17. The same ISU team that went 3-8 last year. THAT ISU team.
UNI has nobody to blame but themselves for not being in the playoffs. If you can't beat Illinois State, you've got no business bitching about Weber being in the playoffs.

Go Griz.
Go Panthers.
And he's just trying to rile up BSC posters.
Fact is: Weber got rolled. And UNI would have too, but they didn't get the "opportunity", since the got rolled by a supposedly inferior ISU team the week before. Alas, we just weren't able to witness history with UNI's deep run into the playoffs this year because, sometimes it just ain't your day, right?

Illinois State today is nowhere near the same team they were at the beginning of the season. They bought in a new coach and a brand new system. They started terrible and finished really strong. Much better team now.
And as far as the last part of your post goes, Who said we were blaming anybody? Pretty much every UNI poster has said we blew it. We should have won all of those games we lost. Wtf do you want?
Again, I'm just comparing conferences, and you are continually taking shots at UNI.

They did get beat. But they also pissed it down their leg.
A 27 point lead in the seconf half should be absolutley insurmountable for a good team.
That game was a whole lot of griz, and a shit ton of SDSU blowing it.

I agree to a point.....that they did blow the lead....solely on getting dominated by a better team. Not pissing it away. SDSU played there hearts out, and I commend them for that. They just got outplayed by a better team.....and it would not be fair to say that they chocked for how hard they played...
