Then the Redbirds give it back to the Panthers.
But UNI gives it back.
Congrats, Redbirds.
Only two MVFC teams in the playoffs this year (if SDSU makes it in, that is)

That should clinch a bid for the BSC and give a chance for two if EWU wins (I'm assuming Weber will hold on).Benne wrote:2nd place in the Sky just got interesting

OSBF and I had the absolute pleasure today of meeting Can'n Cat and D1B as well as MANY other great UNI fans...Personally, those 2 were class acts, cant say a bad word about them...Next yr I have already decided to return to the UniDone for the 1st time in 15 years...UNI has just as many fans as ISU today, and only by some questionable coaching calls on both teamns did we get a winner...ISU: why the fuck are you going out of bounds with 60 seconds left when UNI has 0 TOs...UNI: why are you going for it on 4th down at the 1 when you can get with 7 with a FG...Reguardless, game was exciting, the company was great, and again I'd like to thank Cap'n Cat and D1B for hanging out with us today!!!

After the pathetic punt by ILSU and the following UNI touchdown, I figured it was over and shut it off!
Two 4th quarter comebacks in the MVFC
ILSU
and
YSU - By 11.

I'd blame the bad snap that almost went over Mazur's head for the bad punt. Ruined the timing of the playguinzone wrote:After the pathetic punt by ILSU and the following UNI touchdown, I figured it was over and shut it off!

Weber held on pretty good, amassing 471 yards in a 47-14 beat down of Cal Poly.Mvemjsunpx wrote:That should clinch a bid for the BSC and give a chance for two if EWU wins (I'm assuming Weber will hold on).Benne wrote:2nd place in the Sky just got interesting

Matt the pleasure was ours. Thank you and OSBF for your generous hospitality and we enjoyed your great friends and family. We had a blast and will be back to ISU for more in the future.isumatt wrote:OSBF and I had the absolute pleasure today of meeting Can'n Cat and D1B as well as MANY other great UNI fans...Personally, those 2 were class acts, cant say a bad word about them...Next yr I have already decided to return to the UniDone for the 1st time in 15 years...UNI has just as many fans as ISU today, and only by some questionable coaching calls on both teamns did we get a winner...ISU: why the fuck are you going out of bounds with 60 seconds left when UNI has 0 TOs...UNI: why are you going for it on 4th down at the 1 when you can get with 7 with a FG...Reguardless, game was exciting, the company was great, and again I'd like to thank Cap'n Cat and D1B for hanging out with us today!!!

Congrats on a great win for your program. MVC, watch out for ISU.

Re: Northen Iowa @ Illinois State
Real pleasure to hang with Cappy and D. Thanks for scoring me that fantastic vantage to enjoy the game from, much appreciated. All the UNI faithful were pure class acts, represented Panther Nation well. Hope you found us to be gracious hosts, and you all enjoyed your visit to Normal.
Special thanks to D for reminding me where I was watching the game from, #18 was pretty much ready to kick my ass. From that point on, I tried to keep my cheering limited to raising arms and the occasional fist pump, without any un necessary whooping or hollaring.
ISU is a very young team, most of the kids contributing are frosh or sophs. I think we're still a year away from contending for a conf championship, but this team has shown steady improvement throughout the season.
As far as the game goes, whew, just about as good a college football game as you could ever want to see. ISU had 1 offensive drive/touchdown on the day, and did it with 0.6 seconds for the game. The birds were able to exploit the panther zone by driving deep on the outside then hitting on the drag routes between the linebackers and the deep safety help from over the top. Even when the route is there, ya still have to be able to make the pitch and catch, and the birds were able to do just enough of it.
So looking forward to next year. For the first time in a long time. It might be fun to be a Redbird football fan again.

No offense, but I'd put my money on #18 in that matchup. QS is a beast.OSBF wrote:Special thanks to D for reminding me where I was watching the game from, #18 was pretty much ready to kick my ass.

OSBF, we had a great time and the ISU people were awesome, every one em them. Thank you for the warm welcome and hospitality as well as the great food and Bell's beer. Please pass our thanks to Jeff and the others who fed us.
I had a blast hanging with you on the sidelines! Hopefully Cap'n will have pictures soon including that classic with you in front of the scoreboard.
Congrats again to the Redbirds, they kicked UNI's butt, plain and simple.
