Just one little quibble with your optimistic "BSC-Finals" bracket: If the games went as you described them, Richmond would be coming to Wash-Griz, since Montana would be the #2 seed.

We're going to have the JMU and WVU games retroactively changed to 14 point wins. :)

Just saw this info on CSN, which looks even further to solidify EWU as an at large if we beat NAU on Saturday:
The NCAA Division I Football Championship Committee has extended an invitation to College Sporting News (CSN) to have their Gridiron Power Index (GPI) used as a tool for the selection of teams for the 2009 NCAA Division I Football Championship.

The GPI rankings will be specifically used for the purposes of evaluating the champion of a conference that does not receive automatic qualification into the championship on an at-large basis.

Beginning with the rankings produced after Saturday, October 24, 2009, CSN will provide the GPI weekly rankings of FCS football teams on Mondays. On the final weekend – championship selection weekend – CSN shall provide the GPI rankings to the NCAA on that Sunday morning.

EDIT: I just realized it said it will be used specifically to evaluate champions of a non AQ conference. My bad. The below info will still help our case, and I'd be really surprised if we didn't get into the field with a win over NAU.

Using the GPI after 10/24, EWU was ranked

19th following our win over MSU
12th (tied) after thumping PSU
13th after our BYE week
11th after beating SUU

NAU is currently 23rd in the GPI, so a win over a top 25 team might bump us into the top 10. Even so, as long as we win, we're well under the 16th ranking cutoff. :thumb:
