His numbers may not be as high because we have had a good running game the previous 3 years to go along with our passing but he is the all time SLC passing leader after the SFA game. So you can all just fuck off. :coffee:

Wow, a little bitter?

Okay, here's what I know about Brad George:

11/19/08 @ Montana:
Passing Att-Cmp-Int Yds TD Long Sack
--------------------------------------------
George,B. 33-21-1 259 1 48 2

Decent enough numbers.

Here's some of what I know about Nichols:

10/17/09 @ Montana:
Passing Cmp-Att-Int Yds TD Long Sack
--------------------------------------------
Matt Nichols 32-49-0 312 3 50 2

10/6/07 @ Montana:
Passing Att-Cmp-Int Yds TD Long Sack
--------------------------------------------
Matt Nichols 59-37-0 451 2 45 2

For whatever reason, Nichols tore it up when he played in Washington-Grizzly Stadium. Those were some tense games (both of which the Griz won, but just barely).

You've gotta understand that for a long time, the Big Sky has been known as a pass happy conference. So to be at or near the top of the league's all time passing stats is saying something. You've also gotta understand that we (or at least I) am going to discuss what I know. I know the Big Sky. :twocents:

How come when a woman gets pissed off you guys use that same lame reasoning but when a guy does he is just defending an issue? FYI - I'm past that anyway.

And I was....just sayin'

Thought I'd wake a few of you up...it's been a somewhat slow, boring week on CS.

SDGriz

Please don't get me wrong. I can see what the kid is accomplishing. It's amazing. Some QBs amaze me. Edwards amazes the hell out of me but because of him we don't get a lot of insight into what some of the other top QBs are doing. (and let's not forget the O lines that help make this happen also) I'd give anything to see some of these guys play for just one game.

I'd want to see career numbers though, as opposed to one good season. You have put this out there and I was impressed to go over your lists. I will be first to admit I have not followed the BSC, so I am not familiar with any of those players, yet the stats speak for themselves. Kudos and cograts go out.

As far as BG, he has had 5 - 300 yd games this year and his career yp stand at 8970 with 2 games left (9270 total O - he's not a running threat). I consider this a good place considering his frosh and soph seasons TXST went 5-6, 4-7 and he was benched for almost 4 games last year until he "got his head on straight" The stat line won't show he missed or DNP 4 games but, believe me, he was pulled very early in 2 and sat out 2. Also, if you check the SLC record book, it will have Nathan Brown (with 10k+ yds) as the all time passer, however, he has a footnote that states he didn't play all 4 years in the SLC, which he didn't. I've no doubt Brown would have it had he done so, he was/is a v. good QB. I hated watching him because he was so good.
George has passed several legendary SLC QBs this season.

Note: I expect Jeremy Moses will claim this over BG next season.

I am wondering what his stats would have been like had he been a 4 year starter.....with talent like that, it's hard to believe he did not start as a Freshman. His predecessor must have been very capable.

It will be interesting to see what the QB situation will be like next year for Eastern....seems like we have a couple of really capable sophomores in the waiting, and another Freshman from........wait for it.......California. But I expect our offensive numbers to be down quite a bit next year, much like 2006 after Meyer graduated. One positive is that we have a couple really promising receivers that are Freshman this year, tall kids, too, at 6'3 and 6'5, who could be great players for Eastern in the coming years. And, of course, Taiwan Jones. You might see Eastern focused on running the ball quite a bit next year. :D
DD wasn't even the starter at the beginning of his sophomore year. For the life of me, I can't remember who was, but in the first game of the '93 season the Griz fell way behind to South Dakota St. and then Dickenson came into the game and led them to a 52-48 win and the biggest comeback in Grizzly history. The job was his from then on.
It was 38-7 when he came in, and if I remember right it was not only the biggest comeback in Montana history, but also the biggest in I-AA history (at the time). He is reported to have said, when he first got into the huddle, "If any of you don't think we can come back and win this thing, get the h-ll out of this huddle right now!"

I think the starter was Bert Wilberger at the start of 1993, until after the Oregon game, when DD came on in relief again and almost got the win over the Ducks, narrowly losing 35-30. After which, Oregon head coach Rich Brooks said to Griz HC Don Read, "Where did you get that Houdini?"
