Tell that to those on Medicare and Medicaid. Tell that to all the other countries with Socialized/One Provider medical plans. Tell that to all the other countries that pay less for their prescriptions. Tell that to someone who has been bankrupted by their current medical coverage. I'm not saying the current state of the American health system is in shambles, there are plenty of things that we do better than the rest of the world. We get new/helpful drugs quicker, our doctors use new techniques more often and faster than the rest of the world. What I'm saying is something needs to be done, either by the government or the insurance companies themselves. The cases of those who have been denied coverage by their insurance company is absolutely grotesque and inhumane. Maybe socialized/universal health care isn't the answer, but I don't see the insurance companies changing any time soon and I don't see the dozens of countries with a universal health care plan struggling.
Where have you been since 2000? We're going to borrow it from the Chinese.
