Post your poll - 10/31
Re: Post your poll - 10/31
Weber and EWU are all a part of one big circle jerk like what someone (I think it was AZ) said about the CAA.
Weber is "good" because they beat EWU
EWU is "good" because they beat MSU
MSU is "good" because they beat Weber
Montana is good, and none of those teams beat Montana, and they didn't do anything OOC to show me they're worth a cent.
And UNI is propped up by the 1 point loss to Iowa. They really haven't done anything earth shattering except lose in the dome and beat up on terrible teams.
And everyone has LU so low because our only "quality" win is against Lafayette. Which, should they continue to win and win the PL, would be a quality win. More quality than anything on UNI's schedule.

You mean a 1 point loss to the #4 team in the FBS?ToTheLeft wrote:Weber and EWU are all a part of one big circle jerk like what someone (I think it was AZ) said about the CAA.

That 7 point loss to SIU in which we handed them the game, twice?
That loss AT SDSU during their HOMECOMING, which we again gave them the game?
You mean the fact that outside of 2 top 10 FCS teams we are outscoring opponents at a 47-5...ish clip means we are bad? You are a fucking joke of a homer voter if I have ever saw one.

Jeeze... how many people are going to argue about losses to explain why their team is better?

haha.. you're giving GoKats hell, but you have NAU at 14th after a loss to a sub .500 team? NAU has 1 win vs. a team w/ a winning record.dbackjon wrote:Interesting - GoKats ranks MSU, but not NAU, who SPANKED the kitties at the LitterBowl...
Criticizing other people's polls might be fun because there are some polls out there that are ..... odd, but I don't see the point in it because it's a lot of opinions merged into a final product.. and hopefully, not a single poll is the same.

Re: Post your poll - 10/31
Liberty is beating up on the crap teams they play, too. And I only have LU a spot or two ahead of where ISUMatt, who isn't even a Big South Fan, much less an LU fan, has them. You're just butthurt because someone isn't kissing UNI's butt over losing to Iowa.
And adding excuses to losses doesn't make them less of a loss. I am done trying to defend the stupid JMU loss, we lost to JMU. A loss that looks better every week, but it was a loss. Oh, and "Giving" a team a game means you lost, and doing it twice means you're not a top 10 calibre team. Giving teams games means your team isn't championship material. How many games have Richmond, Elon, and the Griz given away this year?

That's generally how Clenz walks around this board
.... that's all they will see in the end, is a loss. Not how well you played in that loss, just that you lost. Anyone care that Notre Dame almost beat USC a few years ago? Nope.

It isn't just the humans not giving Liberty the respect you think they deserve, it is the computers
(9) Northern Iowa 5 3 1.404
(23) Lafayette 7 1 1.073
(24) Liberty 6 2 1.066

Re: Post your poll - 10/31
It's tough to gain e-respect from the computers when your conference mates decide that recruiting, facilities, and otherwise fielding competitive sports teams isn't really important. We beat CSU and went down. We beat Presby and stayed the same. It's like we play Indiana State EVERY WEEK, instead of once a year.

Its hard to get over what I've seen in person, even with UMass's complete inability to play on the road. I have Maine right outside at about 27 or 28.
It was one of those things that I couldn't come up with a logical answer to. Perhaps the answer should have been to rank both Maine and UMass.
But then what do you do with Albany? Albany completely throttled Maine in that second half, but then got demolished by UMass. Weird results this year for sure.

Haven't heard anything yet. Albany is notoriously slow about releasing a schedule. We had Cincinnati locked up in contract and us listed on their website and still couldn't get the official nod from our Athletic Department.mainejeff wrote:I tend to put less weight on September games as the season goes on.......not sure that a Maine/Albany game would yield the same results now.danefan wrote:Its hard to get over what I've seen in person, even with UMass's complete inability to play on the road. I do know that the Maine game was a home-and-home. I'm not sure what year the return is though or whether it dates back to our earlier trip to Maine.
That could have been the return game for Maine actually.
