Something about Christians getting offended when someone says they evolved from lesser animals; yet have qualms about being made from dirt.

so many well defined groups...
1) Believe every word of the bible as undisputed truth
2) Believe some of the bible and consider themselves a particular religion
3) Believe the bible is just a book but are still Christian
4) Do not believe a word of the bible - all religions are the same
5) Believe in some higher power but has nothing to do with bible
etc..etc..etc...
it's fairly amazing the ways we believe (or do not believe)

It sure seems that people, including a lot of people at the school I attend, tend to live this way. Like Ghandi once said “I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.”Cap'n Cat wrote:![]()

I think if there were a bunch of actual Christ-like Christians out there, rather than the douche-nozzles in polos with popped collars that act better than everyone, that Christianity might be more well accepted...

Are you suggesting on his return that Jesus won't have a popped collar..!!!! (That's blasphemous)Cap'n Cat wrote:

Religion is just man's early attempts at cosmology, that's all. The evidence that has lead us to the Big Bang is only our latest attempt at cosmology. Within the next year, if CERN keeps working, we'll have more eveidence to study and we will update our latest theory of how it all started accordingly.clenz wrote:As opposed to starting from nothing...and that nothing suddenly went KABOOM and everything we know was made.bobbythekidd wrote:Ask you brother to send you the PM I sent him earlier. I can forgive the old theories a lot for the music they inspired.clenz wrote:I am amazed at how intolerant of religion and religious people that the liberals who don't believe in it really are, especially with how tolerant they claim to be.
However, the same could be said for much of the religious sectors.
I don't know of anyone who thinks an elephant holds the world uphoundawg wrote:Religion is just man's early attempts at cosmology, that's all. We now have photographic evidence that the Earth isn't supported by elephants standing on the back of a giant turtle.
