The airport you are at is on the oppiste side of town that I live. I know one good Italian restaurant in that area and I've been to one "chain" bar there. It gets ghetto or suburbia fast in that area.

I'll be golfing in the NW corner of the city....is that any better? Or farther away....

Closer. I live in the Galleria, which is the right outside the west side of the 620 loop.

But I have no idea whats up in that area. Its pretty residential. I'm used to the inner loop. I know you are a Bud Light kinda guy, so I'll try and think of a chill place.

I'm golfing outside the Sam Houston Tollway, between the 249 and the 6. And any kind of bar/beer is good.

Flying is 45 minutes or less. I have to be back in Austin by 11 to get any sleep. ( landing, another 45 minutes home) I'd have to leave (to get home) before any of the fun would begin if I drove, or I might not be able to drive at all if I had more than 1 drink. Flying I could catch a late flight. Just sayin'. Honestly, with prior notification I might have been able to make arrangements and taken Sunday off too.

Next time, PM me a few weeks in advance... we could share a room at the airport

Is Rice in town? They might as well be FCS anyway, most years. Seriously, Rice Stadium is impressive. 70,000 seats for a school with maybe 3500 undergrads.

I watched some of the Navy-Rice game this weekend before it got out of hand (Navy won by about 40). Rice has about 20k of those seats covered up with tarps and they had MAYBE 15k in attendance. Pretty bad considering teams like Army and Navy usually draw pretty well on the road.
